Giloy Ghana Vati is a potent Ayurvedic formulation that is prepared from the extract of Guduchi which goes by the botanical name Tinospora cordifolia. Preparation of Giloy Ghana Vati

Ingredients

Giloy stems (freshly cut and washed)

Acacia gum (as a binding agent)

Method

Cut the freshly obtained Giloy stems into small parts and crush them.

Immerse the crushed stems in water and keep it aside for a few hours to prepare the decoction.

After a few hours, the decoction is strained and heated on high flame to get the pure giloy extract.

When the extract thickens and reaches a gel like consistency, put off the flame and allow it to cool.

Dry the extract under direct sun for a few days until there is no moisture left and it becomes crisp and powder in nature.

Now, mix the extract with the binding agent (gum acacia) to hold the powder particles together.

Roll them in your palm into minute round balls to make the vatis.

Dosage

The prescribed amount is two 250 mg tablets or capsules once or twice daily with meal or one 500 mg tablet or capsule taken regularly with meal.
