Simhasana (Lion Pose)
Kneel and put your hands on your thighs. Open your mouth wide while jutting out your tongue forcefully downwards, towards the chin. While breathing through the mouth, generate a sound from down the throat that imitates the roar of a lion. Repeat the exercise 5 times.
The lion pose not only tones and stretches the facial muscles but also works up the region near the thyroid glands. It effectively reduces immobility in the back and shoulders, unwinds and elevates the mood, and makes your skin smooth and supple.
Jivha Bandha (Locked Tongue Pose)
Relax in the padmasana posture. Place your hands comfortably on your thighs. Try pushing the tip of your tongue towards the upper back palate of your mouth as if you are trying to swallow it. While the tongue is pushed at the back of your mouth, try opening your mouth wide till you perceive a stretch in your throat and neck muscles. Relax for a minute and repeat the facial exercise 5 times.

Matsya Asana (Fish Pose)
Lie comfortably on your back and fold your arms underneath your body. Raise your head and chest, inhale, and then rest the back of the head on the ground while arching your back. Balance your body in this posture using your elbows. Breathe in and out deeply to open up the lungs and chest. Maintain this posture for as long as you are comfortable, take a break for a minute and repeat 5 times.
Acclaimed as the “Destroyer of all diseases”, the Fish pose stimulates deep breathing by stretching and strengthening the lung muscles. It also balances the bodily hormones and makes the skin more flexible and taut. This cooling yoga pose also steadies the nervous system.
Salamba Sarvangasana (Shoulder-Stand Pose)
Lie straight on the ground with your legs stretched side-by-side and both arms resting on either side of the body. Swing your legs up in the air in such a way so that your body from the hips, buttocks and legs are up and your elbows support your body being attached to the ground. While maintaining the posture, ensure that you balance your body properly keeping your legs and spine straight. Hold the pose for 30-40 secs while inhaling and exhaling normally. Slowly bring down your legs back to the Shavasana pose, relax for a minute and repeat 2-3 times.
Touted as the “Mother of all Poses”, the shoulder stand pose is extremely pivotal to calm the nerves and ease the mind. Not only does it help in getting rid of dullness and sallow skin by boosting blood supply to the head but also helps fight annoying acne and pimples. It even enhances blood flow throughout the body and helps safeguard it from infections.
Trikonasana (Triangle Pose)
Stand upright while keeping your feet joined. Relax your arms hanging on either side of the body. Spread your legs apart gradually. Lift your left hand. Take a deep breath and bend towards your right and balance by keeping your right palm on the ground. Bend your head upwards and fix your gaze on the left-hand fingertips and count up to 20. Repeat the posture while bending towards the left. Take a minute of rest and continue the entire posture three more times on either side.
