A: ZYBEND CHEWABLE TABLET is used in the management of parasitic worm infections like enterobiasis, ancylostomiasis, hymenolepsiasis, strongyloidiasis, ascariasis, trichuriasis and giardiasis in the body. It is also useful in the management of worm infections of the brain (such as parenchymal neurocysticercosis) and liver, lung or lining of stomach walls (such as Chinese liver fluke disease, cystic hydatid disease) which are caused by larval form of tape worms.

A: ZYBEND CHEWABLE TABLET is an antiparasitic medication. It binds to the parasite cell and disrupts their cell structure. It also collapses their metabolism and restricts them from absorbing sugar (glucose) which is essential for their growth and multiplication. This depletes the energy level of the parasite and controls the severity of the infection.

A: ZYBEND CHEWABLE TABLET should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.

A: Take ZYBEND CHEWABLE TABLET for the stipulated duration as prescribed by your doctor. Do not skip the medicine or stop taking it on your own as it may cause the infection to reappear.

A: ZYBEND CHEWABLE TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women. Therefore, inform your doctor before taking it if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Women of childbearing potential must use a suitable contraceptive method to avoid pregnancy while undergoing therapy with ZYBEND CHEWABLE TABLET and for until 6 months after discontinuation of the therapy.

A: Take ZYBEND CHEWABLE TABLET for the stipulated duration instructed by your doctor even if you feel better during the midway of the therapy. Failing to complete the full course of the therapy or skipping doses in between the therapy may not result in adequate infection control. Before taking ZYBEND CHEWABLE TABLET inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney problems. You must not take this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding without consulting your doctor. Both men and women taking ZYBEND CHEWABLE TABLET must use proper safety measures to avoid pregnancy while taking ZYBEND CHEWABLE TABLET and up to 3-6 months following discontinuation of the therapy. Regularly visit your doctor for check-up and perform all medical tests recommended by your doctor without fail.

A: The most common side effects of taking ZYBEND CHEWABLE TABLET are stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headache and increased liver enzymes. Contact your doctor if any of these side effects worsen.

A: Do not stop taking ZYBEND CHEWABLE TABLET once your symptoms subside. It is important to take the full course of ZYBEND CHEWABLE TABLET to achieve better results. Failing to complete the full course of the therapy or skipping doses in between the therapy may not result in adequate infection control. It may also cause your symptoms to reappear.

A: ZYBEND CHEWABLE TABLET may cause diarrhea in some individuals. If you experience diarrhea, drink plenty of fluids, such as water or fruit juice to keep yourself hydrated. Consuming ORS can also be beneficial. Do not consume any medicine on your own without consulting your doctor. If your diarrhea worsens contact your doctor immediately.

A: ZYBEND CHEWABLE TABLET may cause moderate and transient hair loss in some individuals. This is usually temporary and disappears once therapy is stopped. However, consult your doctor if it bothers you.
