Introduction About ZITA PLUS R TABLET
ZITA PLUS R TABLET is a combination of Remogliflozin and Teneligliptin, which belongs to the group of medicines called Antidiabetic agents. It is used in the management of diabetes mellitus in adults aged 18 years and older. ZITA PLUS R TABLET is used to improve glycaemic control when metformin and one of the mono components of Remogliflozin and Teneligliptin do not provide adequate glycaemic control.
ZITA PLUS R TABLET is not recommended for use in moderate to severe kidney disease or liver disease, severe ketosis, diabetic coma or history of diabetic coma, or have type 1 diabetes, severe infections, or trauma. Consult your doctor before taking it.
ZITA PLUS R TABLET is not recommended for use during pregnancy or in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking it.
ZITA PLUS R TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adults under 18 years of age or in elderly patients. Consult your doctor before taking it.
The most common side effects of ZITA PLUS R TABLET are constipation. hypoglycemia, diarrhea, asthenia, fever, headache, bacteriuria, urinary tract infection, cough, viral upper respiratory tract infection, orthostatic hypotension. Consult your doctor if any of the side effects worsen.

How ZITA PLUS R TABLET Works
ZITA PLUS R TABLET effectively controls blood glucose levels, where remogliflozin works by inhibiting sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 protein in the kidneys and managing the reabsorption of glucose from the blood into the kidneys. As a result, more glucose is excreted in urine, which helps lower blood glucose levels in the body.
Teneligliptin belongs to the family of dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors, which help lower blood sugar levels by increasing the levels of certain hormones that stimulate insulin release and reduce glucose production in the liver.
How to use ZITA PLUS R TABLET
Take ZITA PLUS R TABLET, preferably with meals or as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending on your age, body weight, and disease condition.
Side Effects Of ZITA PLUS R TABLET
Common

Stop taking ZITA PLUS R TABLET and consult your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- symptoms of diabetic ketoacidosis include nausea, vomiting, anorexia, abdominal pain, excessive thirst, difficulty breathing, confusion, unusual fatigue, or sleepiness
- signs and symptoms of necrotizing fasciitis of the perineum (Fournier’s Gangrene) pain or tenderness, erythema, or swelling in the genital or perineal area, along with fever or malaise
How To Manage Side Effects
Constipation
Include fiber-rich foods in your diet, such as fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole-grain cereals, and drink plenty of fluids. Exercise more regularly and stay active. Contact your doctor if constipation persists.
Diarrhea
Drink lots of fluids, such as water or fruit juices, to keep yourself hydrated. Do not take any medicine on your own to manage diarrhea. Contact your doctor if your diarrhea does not improve.
Headache
Rest and relax. Drink plenty of fluids, such as water or ORS (Oral Rehydrating Solution), and apply a pain-relieving balm to the head if necessary. Contact your doctor if your headache does not improve.
Hypoglycemia
Have foods rich in sugars, such as fruit juices, glucose drinks, candies, honey, or biscuits. Check your blood sugar after 10 minutes. If you have not reached your optimum level, take another sugary snack or drink and check your blood sugar levels once again. Contact your doctor if there is no improvement in your condition.

Breastfeeding
ContraindicatedZITA PLUS R TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women as it may pass through the breast milk. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Driving and Using Machines
Use with CautionDo not drive or operate any machinery if you feel dizziness or lightheadedness after taking ZITA PLUS R TABLET.
Alcohol
Consult your doctorAvoid excessive alcohol consumption while taking ZITA PLUS R TABLET, as it may lead to a decrease in blood sugar levels.
Kidney
ContraindicatedZITA PLUS R TABLET is not recommended for use in moderate to severe kidney disease. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Liver
ContraindicatedZITA PLUS R TABLET is not recommended for use in moderate-to-severe liver disease. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Allergy
ContraindicatedDo not take ZITA PLUS R TABLET if you are allergic to remogliflozin, teneligliptin, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Heart Disease
Use with CautionZITA PLUS R TABLET should be used with caution in patients with heart disease such as congestive heart failure, congenital prolonged QT syndrome, arrhythmias, low serum potassium, and a history of Torsades de Pointes. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Use In Pediatrics
ContraindicatedZITA PLUS R TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adults under 18 years of age as safety and efficacy have not been established. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Use In Geriatrics
ContraindicatedZITA PLUS R TABLET is not recommended for use in elderly patients over 75 years of age. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Others
ZITA PLUS R TABLET is not recommended for use if you:
- have severe ketosis, diabetic coma, or a history of diabetic coma, type 1 diabetes
- have a severe infection
- are planned for surgery
- have severe trauma
Before taking ZITA PLUS R TABLET, inform your doctor if you:
- have pituitary insufficiency or adrenal insufficiency
- have a poor nutritional state, starvation, an irregular dietary intake, or a debilitating condition
- have a history of abdominal surgery or bowel obstruction
Interactions
A. Drug-Drug interactions:
Before taking ZITA PLUS R TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines, such as:
- diuretics (medicines that increase urine production) Ex. furosemide
- oral contraceptives (medicines used to manage fertilization) Ex. ethinylestradiol and norethindrone
- antiarrhythmic drugs (medicines used to manage irregular heartbeats) Ex. quinidine sulfate hydrate, procainamide hydrochloride, amiodarone hydrochloride, and sotalol hydrochloride
- insulin, sulfonylurea, and other antidiabetic agents such as glimepiride and metformin (other medicines used to manage diabetes mellitus)
- β blockers Ex. atenolol (used in the management of heart diseases)
- mao inhibitors Ex. selegiline (used to manage depression)
- corticosteroids (medicines used in the management of inflammatory diseases) Ex. dexamethasone
- thyroid hormones Ex. levothyroxine (medicine used in the management of hypothyroidism)
- salicylic acid agents Ex. aspirin (used to manage pain and inflammation)
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of ZITA PLUS R TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
