    Introduction About ZILAST 50MG TABLET

ZILAST 50MG TABLET contains Cilostazol which belongs to the group of medicines called Phosphodiesterase type 3 inhibitors. It is used in the management of intermittent claudication, which is defined as the cramp-like pain in the legs while walking caused by insufficient blood supply in the legs. Symptoms include pain, ache, discomfort or fatigue in muscles every time, when those muscles are used (usually the calves, thighs, buttocks, hips or feet).

Along with this management your doctor might advise you to make lifestyle modifications like increasing regular exercise and stop smoking. Prior to the management, your doctor may want you to take ankle-brachial index test to understand your existing condition.

ZILAST 50MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients having severe heart problems (such as heart failure, heart attack), uncontrolled blood pressure, kidney or liver disease, active stomach ulcer and stroke.

Do not drink large amounts of grapefruit juice while taking ZILAST 50MG TABLET as it may reduce the effect of this medicine. ZILAST 50MG TABLET is not recommended for use among pregnant or breastfeeding women, therefore consult your doctor before taking it. This medicine is not recommended for use in children and adolescents.

The most common side effects of taking ZILAST 50MG TABLET are headache, abnormal stools, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, dizziness, nausea and loss of appetite.  Consult your doctor if any of the side effects worsen over the time.

    Uses Of ZILAST 50MG TABLET

    • Manage intermittent claudication

    How ZILAST 50MG TABLET Works

ZILAST 50MG TABLET acts by inhibiting the activity of certain enzymes (phosphodiesterase) which helps in the increase in the level of cAMP (cellular messengers to initiate certain actions) in platelets and blood vessels. The cAMP helps in widening of some blood vessels and reducing the clotting activity of platelets inside the blood vessels. Hence increasing the blood circulation to the legs making it easier and less painful to walk.

How to use ZILAST 50MG TABLET
