Walyte Apple Flavor Powder belongs to oral rehydration salts (ORS) which is used to replenish the lost fluid and electrolytes occurring because of diarrhea, vomiting or excessive sweating due to various reasons. It contains electrolytes, calcium lactate, ascorbic acid and magnesium sulphate as active ingredients which help maintain normal fluid balance in the body.
Dextrose facilitates the absorption of sodium and water in the small intestine. Sodium chloride and potassium chloride are needed as replacement of these essential ions during diarrhoea and vomiting. Sodium citrate corrects the excess acid levels that occur because of diarrhoea. Calcium lactate acts as an energy source by participating in various metabolic pathways. Magnesium sulphate plays a role in ion transport and in maintaining balance across the cellular membrane. Ascorbic acid acts as an antioxidant that helps to protect cells from the damage caused by free radicals.
