    Description

The Vygon Intranule Catheter is a sterile, single-use intravenous cannula designed for peripheral venous access. It is intended for the administration of medications and fluids or for blood sampling. The catheter is made of polypropylene and is mounted on a trocar needle. Its design includes a winged hub for stability and a female Luer-lock connector for secure attachment to infusion devices. A flashback chamber in the needle hub provides visual confirmation of correct vein entry.

Polypropylene Cannula: The catheter is constructed from polypropylene, a durable material for intravenous use. Winged Hub: Features wings to aid in secure fixation and stability once inserted. Luer-Lock Connector: Equipped with a female Luer-lock connector at the proximal end to ensure a secure connection with infusion lines. Blood Reflux Chamber: The needle hub includes a chamber that displays blood reflux, confirming the needle has successfully entered the vessel. Tapered Distal End: The end of the cannula is tapered to facilitate smoother penetration through the skin and into the vein.

    Direction for Use/Dosage

To be used by a qualified healthcare professional. Select a suitable vein, typically on the back of the hand or forearm. Apply a tourniquet and cleanse the insertion site using an appropriate aseptic technique. Stabilize the vein and insert the catheter needle, bevel up, at a low angle. Observe for blood return in the flashback chamber to confirm entry into the vein. Advance the catheter slightly further, then thread the cannula completely into the vein while withdrawing the needle. Release the tourniquet and apply pressure above the catheter tip to occlude the vein. Activate the safety mechanism (if applicable) and dispose of the needle in a sharps container. Connect the primed infusion set to the catheter hub and secure it. Flush the catheter to confirm correct placement and apply a sterile dressing.
