Introduction About VONASEC 20MG TABLET

VONASEC 20MG TABLET is used in the management of Gastro-intestinal reflux disease (GERD), reflux or erosive esophagitis, heartburn, acidity, stomach ulcers and other complications caused due to excessive stomach acid secretions. It can also be used as an adjunctive therapy for eradication of Helicobacter pylori infection in combination with antibiotics (like amoxicillin and clarithromycin).

VONASEC 20MG TABLET contains Vonoprazan which is a Potassium Competitive Acid Blocker (P-CAB). It works by blocking a specific protein in the stomach lining which is crucial for producing stomach acid. By inhibiting it, vonoprazan effectively reduces the amount of acid the stomach produces.

Vonoprazan reduces stomach acid more effectively than traditional proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), creating a less acidic environment which helps the antibiotics work better by increasing their stability and concentration in the stomach, making it easier to eradicate the H. pylori bacteria. VONASEC 20MG TABLET is suitable for use only in adults.

Before taking VONASEC 20MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have low blood magnesium levels, calcium and potassium levels or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

The most common side effects of taking VONASEC 20MG TABLET are stomach pain, indigestion, diarrhea, constipation, bloating, high blood pressure, headache, changes in taste sense, vaginal yeast infection and cold-like symptoms. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects trouble you.

Uses Of VONASEC 20MG TABLET

Management of Gastrointestinal problems such as:

  • GERD and its signs like heartburn, acidity, indigestion
  • Reflux or erosive esophagitis
  • Stomach ulcers and duodenal ulcers
  • Adjunctive therapy for H. pylori infection in combination with antibiotics

How VONASEC 20MG TABLET Works

VONASEC 20MG TABLET contains Vonoprazan which works by blocking a specific protein in the stomach lining called the potassium ion transporter. This protein is crucial for producing stomach acid. By inhibiting it, vonoprazan effectively reduces the amount of acid the stomach produces. This helps in managing conditions like acid reflux, stomach ulcers, and other acid-related disorders by allowing the stomach and esophagus to heal.

For H. pylori infection eradication, vonoprazan is used as part of a combination therapy with antibiotics. Vonoprazan reduces stomach acid more effectively than traditional proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), creating a less acidic environment. This enhanced acid suppression helps the antibiotics work better by increasing their stability and concentration in the stomach, making it easier to eradicate the H. pylori bacteria and promote healing of the stomach lining.

Stay hydrated and avoid sudden movements like standing up quickly, which can worsen the dizziness. Try to move slowly and sit down if you feel lightheaded. Resting with your head elevated can also help. Eating small, balanced meals throughout the day can keep your blood sugar stable, reducing dizziness. Ensure your home is free of tripping hazards and keep a stable object nearby to hold onto if needed. If dizziness persists or worsens, consult your healthcare provider for further guidance.

Nausea And Vomiting

Eat small, frequent meals instead of large ones, and avoid greasy, spicy, or strong-smelling foods. Stay hydrated by sipping clear liquids like water, ginger ale, or herbal teas throughout the day. Ginger, either in tea, candies, or as a supplement, can help reduce nausea. Resting in an upright position after eating can also minimize symptoms. If prescribed by your doctor, take anti-nausea medications as directed.
