    Introduction About VICTOZA 6MG/ML PEN(PREFILLED)

VICTOZA 6MG/ML PEN(PREFILLED) contains Liraglutide which belongs to the group of medicines called Antidiabetics. VICTOZA 6MG/ML PEN(PREFILLED) is used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus which helps the body to reduce high blood sugar levels and slows food passage through the stomach. VICTOZA 6MG/ML PEN(PREFILLED) is used alone when the blood sugar is not properly controlled by diet, exercise, or other oral antidiabetic medicines. Type 2 Diabetes mellitus is a chronic condition that occurs due high level of sugar in the blood which is generally characterized by symptoms such as increased thirst, frequent urination, increased hunger, unintended weight loss, weakness, and blurred vision.

Liraglutide works by helping the pancreas to release the right amount of insulin when blood sugar levels are high which is then moved into body tissue from the blood where it is used for energy thus resulting in the reduction of blood sugar level which also slows the emptying of the stomach resulting in decrease of appetite.

VICTOZA 6MG/ML PEN(PREFILLED) is not recommended for use in patients having type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis (a complication of diabetes with high blood sugar and increase in effort to breathe), severe stomach, or gut problems, inflammatory bowel disease, severe liver disease, or heart failure. Before using VICTOZA 6MG/ML PEN(PREFILLED), inform your doctor if you have thyroid disease such as enlarged thyroid gland, have or had a disease of pancreas such as pancreatitis.
