Introduction About VERIZET D TABLET
VERIZET D TABLET is a combination of Levocetirizine and Pseudoephedrine which belongs to the group of medicines called Antihistamines and Nasal Decongestants respectively. It is used to get relief from symptoms of hay fever or other respiratory allergies. The symptoms are runny nose, sneezing, itchy and watery eyes, itching of the nose and nasal congestion.
VERIZET D TABLET is not recommended for use in patients having severe kidney disease. It should be taken with caution in patients who have heart or liver disease, epilepsy, thyroid, high blood pressure, diabetes and difficulty in urination.
In pregnant women, VERIZET D TABLET should be used with caution and it is contraindicated in breast-feeding mothers unless advised by the doctor. VERIZET D TABLET is not recommended for use in children below 12 years of age.
The most common side effects of taking VERIZET D TABLET are dry mouth, headache, tiredness and downiness. Talk to your doctor if any of these worsen or doesn’t improve.

How VERIZET D TABLET Works
VERIZET D TABLET helps to reduce the symptoms of hay fever or other respiratory allergies, where levocetirizine is a H1 receptor antagonist which stops the action of histamine by acting on histamine receptors which results in muscle relaxation, decrease in flare responses and non- activation of cough receptors. Pseudoephedrine is an alpha-adrenergic agonist which effectively relaxes the bronchial muscles and blood vessels.
How to use VERIZET D TABLET
Take VERIZET D TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of VERIZET D TABLET for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Side Effects Of VERIZET D TABLET

Uncommon

Rare
Stop taking VERIZET D TABLET and consult your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- nervousness, sleepiness, or dizziness
- allergic reactions (signs include swelling of the mouth, face and/or throat or swallowing difficulties together with hives (angioedema), breathing difficulties or a sudden fall in blood pressure leading to collapse or shock)
- seizures
- thoughts of harming yourself
How To Manage Side Effects
Dry mouth:
Sip water regularly and other sugar free liquids. Do not use mouthwashes that contain alcohol because they can make your mouth dry, use mouthwash that is used only for dry mouth. Limit your caffeine intake. Avoid smoking or using tobacco products. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.
Constipation:
Take fiber rich foods in your diet such as fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grain cereals and drink plenty of fluids. Exercise more regularly and stay active. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.
Headache:
Drink ample amount of water and avoid skipping meals. Get adequate rest. Try to be relaxed and stress free. Apply pain relieving balm on your forehead if necessary. Inform your doctor if the symptom does not improve.
Diarrhoea:
Drink lot of fluids such as water to keep yourself hydrated. Avoid eating high-fat or spicy foods. Inform your doctor if the symptom gets worse.
Stomach pain:
Try to rest and relax. Eat and drink slowly or try to have smaller and frequent meals. Keep a heating pad on your stomach. If the symptom does not improve, inform your doctor.

Pregnancy
VERIZET D TABLET should be used with caution in pregnant women only if considered clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Breastfeeding
VERIZET D TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless advised by the doctor as it may pass through breast milk. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Driving and Using Machines
Do not drive or operate any machines if you feel sleepy, tired and exhausted after taking VERIZET D TABLET.
Alcohol
Avoid the use of alcohol while taking VERIZET D TABLET as it may reduce alertness and affect the performance.
Kidney
VERIZET D TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe kidney failure and should be used with caution in patients with mild to moderate kidney diseases. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Liver
VERIZET D TABLET should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Allergy
Do not take VERIZET D TABLET if you are allergic to Levocetirizine, Pseudoephedrine or other antihistamines such as cetirizine.
Heart Disease
VERIZET D TABLET should be used with caution in patients with heart disease. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Others
Before taking VERIZET D TABLET tell your doctor if you:
- have epilepsy or at risk of convulsions
- have high blood pressure
- have thyroid disease
- have diabetes
- are unable to empty your bladder (due to spinal cord injury or enlarged prostate)
- have schedule for allergy testing
Use in paediatrics:
VERIZET D TABLET is not recommended for use in children below 12 years of age. Consult your child’s doctor for advice.
Use in geriatrics:
VERIZET D TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Interactions
A. Drug - Drug interactions:
Before taking VERIZET D TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines:
- monoamine oxidase inhibitors such as isocarboxazid, phenelzine (used to manage depression)
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of VERIZET D TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Overdosage symptoms of VERIZET D TABLET includes sleepiness/drowsiness in adults and in children it may cause excitation and restlessness followed by sleepiness/drowsiness.
