    How TUSTY AM EXPECTORANT Works

TUSTY AM EXPECTORANT is a combination of Ambroxol, Guaiphenesin and Terbutaline. Ambroxol thins and loosens mucus making it easier to cough out. Guaiphenesin increases respiratory tract fluid, reduces the viscosity of tenacious secretions and acts as an expectorant. Terbutaline predominantly stimulates beta 2-receptors (these a kind of receptors present in airway smooth muscles) thus producing relaxation of bronchial smooth muscle. When the medicine is given in combination, it makes breathing easier and relives the discomfort.
