Introduction About TRIGUARD MOUTH WASH
TRIGUARD MOUTH WASH is a combination of Chlorhexidine, Sodium fluoride and Zinc chloride which belongs to the group of medicines called Disinfectants and Topical Anti-infective agents respectively. It is used to manage gingivitis. It also maintains oral hygiene, inhibits formation of dental plague, manages recurrent oral ulceration, manages denture stomatitis and thrush.
Gingivitis is an inflammatory gum disease caused by bacteria which causes irritation, redness and swelling of the gums. Oral mucositis is a swelling of the tissues in the mouth. Before using TRIGUARD MOUTH WASH inform your doctor if you have any kidney, liver, heart or lung disease. TRIGUARD MOUTH WASH should not be used in children and adolescents below 12 years of age unless prescribed by the doctor.
TRIGUARD MOUTH WASH is safe to use in pregnant and breast-feeding women, however, consult with your doctor before using. The most common side effects of using TRIGUARD MOUTH WASH are tongue discoloration, irritation or burning sensation in the mouth, reversible brown staining of the teeth. Consult your doctor’s advice if any of these worsen or doesn’t improve.

How TRIGUARD MOUTH WASH Works
TRIGUARD MOUTH WASH helps in managing gingivitis and maintaining oral hygiene where Chlorhexidine is an antimicrobial agent which manages the formation of plaque by acting on the microbes present on the tooth surface and destroying them. Sodium fluoride is a cariostatic agent which destroys bacteria that cause dental caries and remineralises the teeth. Zinc chloride acts on the odour causing bacteria in the moth and stops the release of gas (H2S) which causes bad breath.
How to use TRIGUARD MOUTH WASH
Use TRIGUARD MOUTH WASH as directed by your doctor. It is for external use only, do not swallow. Shake well before use. Swish TRIGUARD MOUTH WASH in the mouth for one minute. Do not wash mouth, eat or drink for 20 minutes after using it. Your doctor will prescribe you the correct dose and duration of TRIGUARD MOUTH WASH depending on your age, weight and health condition.
Side Effects Of TRIGUARD MOUTH WASH

Rare
Stop using TRIGUARD MOUTH WASH and inform your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- severe allergic reaction (rash, swelling of tongue, throat, lips or face, difficulty in breathing)

- swelling of the inside of the cheeks

Interactions
A. Drug-Drug interactions:
Before using TRIGUARD MOUTH WASH, inform your doctor if you are taking, have taken, or might take any other medicine, including prescription, non-prescription or any herbal medicine.
B. Drug-Food Interactions:
After using the TRIGUARD MOUTH WASH avoid drinking tea, coffee for at least 1 hour. Its use can cause teeth stains.
Overdosage:
In case of accidental ingestion of TRIGUARD MOUTH WASH, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.

A: Yes TRIGUARD MOUTH WASH reduces bad breath effectively, but only in the short term (about 3 hours). However, before beginning the usage, keep the risk of teeth staining and taste alteration in mind.
Q: Can TRIGUARD MOUTH WASH be used just after brushing teeth?
A: Toothpastes contain sodium lauryl sulphate which may alter the function of TRIGUARD MOUTH WASH. Rinse your moth thoroughly and wait for 5 minutes to use TRIGUARD MOUTH WASH after brushing. You may use it at some other time of the day as well.
