Introduction About TRAVAXO EYE DROPS
TRAVAXO EYE DROPS contains Travoprost which belongs to the group of medicines called Prostaglandin analogues. It is indicated in the management of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with ocular hypertension or open-angle glaucoma.
Glaucoma is a group of diseases characterized by gradual damage to your optic nerve (nerve that carry visual messages), that may result in loss of vision. Ocular hypertension is when the pressure in your eyes is more than the normal range, with no distinguishable changes in vision or damage to the structure of your eyes.
Prior to the management, your doctor may want you to take certain eye tests to understand your existing condition.
Before using TRAVAXO EYE DROPS, inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney or heart disease, eye inflammation, had a cataract surgery, or wear soft contact lenses.
TRAVAXO EYE DROPS is not recommended for use pregnant and breastfeeding women. TRAVAXO EYE DROPS is not recommended for use in children younger than 2 months of age, therefore consult your doctor before using it.
The most common side effects are eye redness, pain, discomfort, irritation, changes in the colour of the eye, dry or itchy eye. Contact your doctor if any of these side effects worsen.

TRAVAXO EYE DROPS belongs to prostaglandin analogue which works by increasing the outflow of aqueous humor, thereby lowering the increased eye pressure.
How to use TRAVAXO EYE DROPS
Use TRAVAXO EYE DROPS as advised by your physician. It is for ophthalmic use only. Wash your hands before use. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Side Effects Of TRAVAXO EYE DROPS
Common
- redness, pain, discomfort, irritation in eye
- changes in eye colour
- dry or itchy eye
Uncommon
- corneal disorder
- inflammation of eye, iris, conjunctiva, inside of the eye, eyelid, eye surface with/out surface damage
- sensitivity to light
- eye discharge
- eyelid redness, itching, crusting
- swelling around the eye
- blurred vision
- increased tear production
- clouding of the eye
- increased allergic symptoms
- headache
- irregular heartbeat
- cough, stuffy nose, throat irritation
- darkening of skin around the eye
- skin darkening
- abnormal hair texture, excessive hair growth
Rare
- perception of flashing lights
- reduced or halo vision
- decreased eye sensation, increased size of pupil
- inflammation of eyelid glands
- pigmentation inside the eye, tired eyes, swollen eyes
- viral infection of eye
- increased or decreased blood pressure
- nasal allergy or inflammation, nasal dryness
- voice changes
- digestive tract discomfort or ulcer, bad taste, constipation, dry mouth
- joint or muscle pain
- dizziness, generalised weakness
Stop taking TRAVAXO EYE DROPS and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- increase the length, thickness, colour or number of your eyelashes
- changes in the eyelids like unusual hair growth or in the tissues around the eye
- change in the colour of your iris, or the skin around the eye
- breathlessness, wheezing, or worsening of asthma
Warning & Precautions
Pregnancy
TRAVAXO EYE DROPS is not recommended for use in pregnant women. Consult your doctor before using it. If you become pregnant you must use adequate contraception while using TRAVAXO EYE DROPS.
Breastfeeding
TRAVAXO EYE DROPS is not recommended for use in breast-feeding women as it may get into breast milk. Consult your doctor before using it.
Driving and Using Machines
Do not drive or use any machines after using TRAVAXO EYE DROPS if your sight becomes blurred.
Allergy
Do not use TRAVAXO EYE DROPS if you are allergic to Travoprost or to any other ingredients of this medicine.
Lungs
TRAVAXO EYE DROPS should be used with caution in patients having asthma. Consult your doctor before using it.
Others
Before using TRAVAXO EYE DROPS, inform your doctor if you:
- had a cataract surgery
- have eye inflammation
- have dry eye
- wear soft contact lenses
Use in pediatrics:
TRAVAXO EYE DROPS is not recommended for use in children under 2 months of age. Consult your doctor before using it.
Use in geriatrics:
Your doctor will prescribe the right dose of TRAVAXO EYE DROPS depending on your age, body weight and health condition.

Before using TRAVAXO EYE DROPS, inform your doctor if you are using, have used, or might use any other medicine, including prescription, non-prescription or any herbal medicine.
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally use too much of TRAVAXO EYE DROPS, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.

Yes. Dry eyes is a common side effect of TRAVAXO EYE DROPS. Consult your doctor if it worsens.
What if TRAVAXO EYE DROPS accidentally touches my skin?
TRAVAXO EYE DROPS may be absorbed through the skin. If it touches your skin, it should be washed off immediately, especially in pregnant women or those attempting to become pregnant. Consult your doctor if any skin reactions occur.
How can I use TRAVAXO EYE DROPS if I wear contact lenses?
Ask your physician regarding use of TRAVAXO EYE DROPS with contact lenses. If you wear soft contact lenses, do not use the medicine with your lenses in. After using it, wait 15 minutes before putting your lenses back in.
What if I forget to use a dose of TRAVAXO EYE DROPS?
If you forget to use a dose of TRAVAXO EYE DROPS, use it as soon as you remember and then continue your management as usual. Do not use the medicine twice to make up for the forgotten dose.
How do I use TRAVAXO EYE DROPS?
Wash your hands before using TRAVAXO EYE DROPS. Hold the medicine while pointing it down and tilt your head back. Slowly pull down the lower eyelid to make a pocket. Gently squeeze the bottle to release a drop in your eye. Keep the eyelid closed, gently press a finger into the corner of the eye, by the nose for at least 1 minute, to stop the medicine from getting into the rest of your body.
Can I use TRAVAXO EYE DROPS with other eye preparations?
Ask your doctor before using any other medicine, including prescription, non-prescription or any herbal medicine with TRAVAXO EYE DROPS.
Can I stop using TRAVAXO EYE DROPS?
TRAVAXO EYE DROPS should be used as advised by the physician to work properly. If you stop using it, the pressure inside your eye may rise which may lead to loss of vision, therefore consult your doctor before stopping this management.
