Introduction About TORSID 10MG INJECTION
TORSID 10MG INJECTION is indicated for the management of oedema associated with congestive heart failure, renal or hepatic disease and essential hypertension. It contains Torsemide which belongs to the group of medicines called Diuretics.
Prior to the management, your doctor may want you to take several blood tests to understand your existing condition.
TORSID 10MG INJECTION is not recommended for use if you have anuria (failure of kidney to produce urine), hepatic coma (loss of brain function due to liver damage).
Before receiving TORSID 10MG INJECTION, inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney, or heart failure. Safety and effectiveness in pregnant or breastfeeding women and children has not been established yet, therefore consult your doctor before receiving the medicine.
TORSID 10MG INJECTION should be used with caution in elderly patients above 65 years of age. The most common side effects are headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation. Consult your doctor if any of the above side effects worsen.

It is used to manage:
- oedema associated with congestive heart failure, kidney, or liver disease
- essential hypertension (high blood pressure)

TORSID 10MG INJECTION inhibits reabsorption of sodium and chloride in kidney by increasing urinary excretion of sodium, chloride, and water. Thus, removing excessive fluid from the body.
How to use TORSID 10MG INJECTION
- TORSID 10MG INJECTION will be administered into a vein only by a doctor or a nurse.
- Your doctor will administer the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Side Effects Of TORSID 10MG INJECTION
Like all medicines, TORSID 10MG INJECTION may cause side effects in few individuals, although not everybody gets them
Common Side Effects of TORSID 10MG INJECTION:
- headache
- nausea, vomiting
- dizziness
- constipation
- upset stomach

Driving and Using Machines

Kidney
Consult your doctorTORSID 10MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in anuric patients (kidneys fail to produce urine). TORSID 10MG INJECTION should be used with caution in patients with kidney failure, and severe urinary flow disorders. The dose will be adjusted by your doctor.
Liver
Consult your doctorTORSID 10MG INJECTION is not recommended for patients with hepatic coma or pre-coma. TORSID 10MG INJECTION should be used with caution in patients with liver diseases like cirrhosis and ascites.
Allergy
ContraindicatedDo not receive TORSID 10MG INJECTION if you are allergic to Torsemide or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Heart Disease

- low volume of blood (hypovolaemia)

- medicines used to relieve pain, stiffness, and inflammation (Ex. aspirin, ibuprofen, indomethacin)
- lithium (used to manage mood disorders)
- medicines used to manage bacterial infections (Ex. streptomycin, gentamycin, rifampin)
- medicines used to manage heart conditions like increased blood pressure and heart insufficiency (Ex. captopril, enalapril, digoxin)
- medicines used to manage inflammatory conditions (Ex. prednisolone, hydrocortisone)
- medicines helps to excrete excess body fluid (Ex. spironolactone, amiloride)
- cholestyramine (used to manage high cholesterol levels)
- probenecid (used to manage gout)
- medicines used to manage fungal infections (Ex. itraconazole, ketoconazole, fluconazole, miconazole)
- oxandrolone (used to promote weight gain)

Overdosage:
TORSID 10MG INJECTION will be administered to you only by a doctor or a nurse in a hospital, and so you are unlikely to receive an overdose. However, consult your doctor or nurse if you experience any unusual symptoms like dehydration, hypovolemia, low blood pressure, low sodium and potassium levels, hypochloremic alkalosis, and hemoconcentration.
