    Introduction About TIPANAT 20 TABLET

    TIPANAT 20 TABLET is used to manage adults with colon cancer or rectal cancer (colorectal cancer). It is used when the cancer has spread to other parts of the body. It is also used when other treatments have not worked or when other treatments are not suitable. TIPANAT 20 TABLET is a combination of Tipiracil and Trifluridine which belongs to the group of medicines known as Antineoplastic Agent which interferes with DNA in cancer cells to stop them from making new cancer cells. Tipiracil stops trifluridine from being broken down by enzymes before it can act.

    Before taking TIPANAT 20 TABLET, inform your doctor if you have or had radiation treatment for your cancer, intolerance to galactose or the Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption. TIPANAT 20 TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women.

    TIPANAT 20 TABLET is not suitable for the use in children and adolescents below 18 years of age. The most common side effects of TIPANAT 20 TABLET are weakness, feeling tired, decreased appetite, abdominal pain, indigestion and common cold. Consult your doctor if any of the above side effects persists for a longer duration.

    How TIPANAT 20 TABLET Works

    TIPANAT 20 TABLET is a combination of Trifluridine and Tipiracil. Trifluridine interferes with DNA in cancer cells to work against them from making new cancer cells. Tipiracil stops trifluridine from being broken down by enzymes before it can act.

    How to use TIPANAT 20 TABLET

    Take TIPANAT 20 TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending on your age, body weight, and disease condition.

    Side Effects Of TIPANAT 20 TABLET

    • indigestion

    • swelling of the gums, tongue, lips and/or mouth
    • rash
    • bleeding gums

    Stop taking TIPANAT 20 TABLET and contact your physician immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

    • signs and symptoms of infections (fever, chills, sore throat, mouth ulcers), fatigue, easy bruising, bleeding of the nose, gums or mouth, tiny red spots on the skin, rash, shortness of breath, pale skin lips and nail beds
    • stomach problems (nausea, vomiting and diarrhea that can cause you to become dehydrated)
    • signs of infection such as sore throat, mouth ulcers or a fever
    • feeling short of breath, tired or having pale skin
    • unusual bruising or bleeding
    • diarrhea

    TIPANAT 20 TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women as it may harm the unborn baby. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Breastfeeding

    Consult your doctor

    If you are breastfeeding women or planning to breastfeed. You should not breastfeed while taking TIPANAT 20 TABLET and for one day after your last dose. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Driving and Using Machines

    Use with Caution

    If you experience symptoms such as fatigue, dizziness or generally feeling unwell, which affects your ability to concentrate and react, while taking TIPANAT 20 TABLET you should not drive or use machines.

    Kidney

    Use with Caution

    TIPANAT 20 TABLET should be taken with caution in patients with kidney problems. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Liver

    Use with Caution

    TIPANAT 20 TABLET should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Allergy

    Contraindicated

    Do not take TIPANAT 20 TABLET if you are allergic to Trifluridine or Tipiracil or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

    Use In Pediatrics

    TIPANAT 20 TABLET should not be administered in children and adolescents less than 18 years of age. Consult your doctor before taking.

    Use In Geriatrics

    Use with Caution

    TIPANAT 20 TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients above 65 years of age or older as you may be at higher risk of side effects related to low blood cell levels.

    Others

    Before taking TIPANAT 20 TABLET, inform your doctor if you:

    • have or had radiation treatment for your cancer
    • have an intolerance to galactose or the Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption
