Introduction About THANK OD LD CREAM

THANK OD LD CREAM is a combination of Lignocaine and Euphorbia prostrata Extract which belongs to the group of medicines called Topical local anesthetic agents and Anorectal preparations respectively. It is indicated for topical management of painful anal fissures and fistula associated with hemorrhoids. Piles or hemorrhoids is a painful swelling that causes discomfort, itching or bleeding in the anal region and also causes difficulty in passing stools. Symptoms include pain or itching sensation in the anal region, pain full swelling, bleeding from the anal region.

Your doctor may advise you to avoid foods rich in fats, sugar or carbohydrates but might suggest consuming dietary supplements and foods rich in fibers such as wheat, bran, prunes, barley, apples, corn, pears, cereals, sweet potato, broccoli, beans, lentils. Your doctor may also advise self-care management with ice packs or cold compressions, and sitz baths (to sit in a few inches of lukewarm water for 10 min) to reduce pain, swelling and bleeding. Do not apply THANK OD LD CREAM if you have a bleeding disorder (uncontrolled bleeding), severe liver disease.

Before using THANK OD LD CREAM inform your doctor if you have methemoglobinemia (increased methemoglobin level in the blood), G6PD deficiency, heart diseases, lung diseases, low red blood cells or hemoglobin. There are no well controlled studies available regarding use of THANK OD LD CREAM in pregnant women and nursing mothers. The common side effects of THANK OD LD CREAM may include nausea, dyspepsia, abdominal pain, gastralgia, gastritis, diarrhoea, dizziness, headache, contact dermatitis, allergic reaction, hypersensitivity and dry mouth. Consult your doctor immediately or visit a nearby hospital, if any of the symptoms worsen or persists for a longer duration.

How THANK OD LD CREAM Works

THANK OD LD CREAM is a combination of Lignocaine and Euphorbia prostrata Extract. Lignocaine stabilizes the neuronal membrane by inhibiting the ionic fluxes required for initiation and conduction of impulses, thereby effecting local anesthetic action reducing pain and itching and irritation. Euphorbia prostrata Extract has been evaluated for its use in the management of the haemorrhoidal disease. Flavonoids and phenolic acid have anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antioxidant, haemostatic, anti-thrombic and vasoprotective actions.

How to use THANK OD LD CREAM

Apply THANK OD LD CREAM as advised by your physician. It is for rectal only. Apply the medicine to the affected area around the anus as advised by your doctor. Avoid contact with this medicine to your eyes, ears, nose, mouth.

Diarrhea

Drink lots of fluids, such as water or fruit juice to keep yourself hydrated. Consult your doctor immediately if the symptoms worsen or persist.

Headache

Take rest and get adequate sleep, stay hydrated. Consult your doctor immediately if the symptoms persist or worsen.

Nausea And Vomiting

Take THANK OD LD CREAM with, or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating rich or spicy food.

Skin rash Or Itching

Avoid hot showers because hot water can irritate your skin further. Do not scratch the affected area. Use protective clothing when going outdoors. Regularly moisturize your skin. Consult your doctor if the symptom worsens.

Interactions

A. Drug-Drug interactions:

Inform your physician, that if you are taking or using,

• benzocaine, lidocaine, bupivacaine, mepivacaine, tetracaine, prilocaine, procaine, articaine, ropivacaine (used to relieve pain and cause temporary numbness)
• nitroglycerin, nitroprusside, nitro oxide, nitrous oxide (used to manage angina/chest pain)
• dapsone, sulfonamides, nitrofurantoin, para-aminosalicylic acid (used to manage the bacterial infection)
• phenacetin, acetaminophen (used to manage pain and fever)
• phenytoin, sodium valproate, phenobarbital (used to manage/control seizure)
• chloroquine, primaquine (used to manage malaria)
• cyclophosphamide, flutamide, rasburicase, ifosfamide, hydroxyurea (used to manage cancer)

Overdosage:

If you or anyone else accidentally uses too much of THANK OD LD CREAM, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
