    Introduction About TEBIF GEL

    TEBIF GEL contains Terbinafine which belongs to the group of medicines called Antifungal agents. It is used topically to manage fungal skin infections.

    TEBIF GEL is for external use only. Take the required quantity of the medicine and apply on the affected skin areas. Use TEBIF GEL for the stipulated duration instructed by your physician to achieve better results. Failing to do so may not result in adequate infection control. Also, inform your doctor if you don’t see any improvement in your condition after 2 weeks of therapy.

    Do not use TEBIF GEL if you are allergic to terbinafine. It is not suitable for use in children aged below 18 years. Consult your doctor before using TEBIF GEL if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The most common side effects of using TEBIF GEL are skin peeling, itching, skin color changes and burning sensation at the side effects. These side effects are usually harmless. However, consult your doctor if they trouble you.

    TEBIF GEL is an antifungal medication. It effectively controls fungal infections within the body. It disrupts the fungal cell membrane by blocking the production of certain chemicals (ergosterol) within the cell which is required for its survival. As a result, it stops the fungal cell from multiplication, thereby managing the further spread of infection.

    How to use TEBIF GEL

    TEBIF GEL is for external use only. Take the required quantity of the medicine and apply on the affected skin areas.

    Avoid contact of this medicine with your face, eyes, ears, nose or any other mucous membranes. Wash your hands before and after application.

    Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and severity of the infection. Do not stop using TEBIF GEL without consulting your doctor.

    Side Effects Of TEBIF GEL

    Common

    • skin peeling
    • skin itching

    Uncommon

    • skin lesions, scabs
    • skin colour changes
    • skin redness
    • application site reactions (such as pain, irritation or burning sensation)

    Rare

    • eye irritation
    • skin dryness
    • skin inflammation

    Stop using TEBIF GEL and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

    • severe skin rash with raised lumps, hives and blistering
    • signs of allergic reactions (such as skin rash, itching, swelling of face, mouth, tongue and throat causing difficulty in breathing)

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Application Site Reactions:

    Place an icepack on the affected skin areas to ease the irritation. Avoid using harsh chemicals or soaps on the affected areas. Wear protective loose-fitting clothes while going outdoors. Regularly moisturize your skin. Avoid exposing your skin towards direct sunlight. If the condition did not improve, contact your doctor.

    TEBIF GEL is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless recommended by your physician. Therefore, consult your doctor before using it.

    Breastfeeding

    TEBIF GEL is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless recommended by your physician. Therefore, consult your doctor before using it.

    Driving and Using Machines

    TEBIF GEL is unlikely to affect your ability for driving or handling any heavy tools or machines.

    Allergy

    Do not use TEBIF GEL if you are allergic to Terbinafine.

    Use in Paediatrics:

    TEBIF GEL is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years). Therefore, consult your doctor before application.

    Use in Geriatrics:

    TEBIF GEL can be used with caution in elderly patients. Therefore, consult your doctor before using it.
