    Introduction About TASULIN 0.4MG TABLET

    TASULIN 0.4MG TABLET contains Tamsulosin which belongs to the group of medicines called Alpha blockers. It is used in men to manage the signs and symptoms of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH).

    BPH (also known enlarged prostate) is an abnormal growth or enlargement of prostate gland in aging men. It is caused primarily due to increased production of a stress hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Symptoms includes difficulty in passing urine, urinary incontinence (unintentional passing of urine), frequent urination at night, sexual dysfunction or painful ejaculation.

    During management with TASULIN 0.4MG TABLET, your doctor will constantly monitor your blood pressure and PSA levels (prostate specific antigen) to avoid the risk of unwanted side effects.

    Before taking TASULIN 0.4MG TABLET inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have cataract or glaucoma surgery in the upcoming days.

    TASULIN 0.4MG TABLET may make you feel dizzy while standing up or changing position. Therefore, do not drive or operate any heavy tools or machines that requires complete alertness. Avoid consumption of alcoholic beverages as it may make you dizzier. If you experience dizziness, sit and rest until it passes away completely.

    Other most common side effects of taking TASULIN 0.4MG TABLET are decrease in sex drive or ejaculation problems. These side effects are usually temporary and disappears once the therapy is stopped. However, consult your doctor if they trouble you.

    Also, inform your doctor if you any experience any prolonged, painful erections (priapism) discharge) or severe dizziness after taking TASULIN 0.4MG TABLET.

    How TASULIN 0.4MG TABLET Works

    TASULIN 0.4MG TABLET is an alpha blocker. It blocks the activity of certain chemicals (noradrenaline) in the body that causes contraction of smooth muscles. As a result, it relaxes the smooth muscles surrounding the bladder and prostate gland. This action improves urine flow and reduces other urinary symptoms associated with BPH.

    How to use TASULIN 0.4MG TABLET

    Take TASULIN 0.4MG TABLET preferably before the first meal of the day (breakfast) or as directed by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.

    Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition. Do not stop taking TASULIN 0.4MG TABLET without consulting your doctor.

    Side Effects Of TASULIN 0.4MG TABLET

    Allergy

    A. Drug-Drug Interactions:

    Before taking TASULIN 0.4MG TABLET inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines such as:

    • diclofenac (a pain killer)
    • warfarin (a medicine used to manage blood clotting)
    • other medicines used to manage BPH (such as silodosin)
    • ketoconazole (a medicine used to manage fungal infection)
    • erythromycin (a medicine used to manage bacterial infection)
    • medicines used to manage erectile dysfunction (Ex. tadalafil, sildenafil)
    • cimetidine (a medicine used to manage stomach ulcers)

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally took more TASULIN 0.4MG TABLET, consult your doctor immediately. Symptoms of overdosage might include decrease in blood pressure, which is characterized by symptoms such as dizziness, fainting, nausea, lack of concentration or blurred vision.
