Introduction About SYMBIOTIK 250/250MG INJECTION
SYMBIOTIK 250/250MG INJECTION contains a combination of Amoxicillin and Cloxacillin, which belongs to the group of medicines called semi-synthetic penicillin antibiotics. SYMBIOTIK 250/250MG INJECTION is used to manage infectious conditions caused by various types of bacteria such as lung infection (Bronchopneumonia, bronchitis etc.), infection in the blood (septicaemia), urinary tract infection, tonsilitis, sinus infection (sinusitis), heart infection (endocarditis), infection of stomach (peritonitis), wound infection, ear infection, tooth/gums infection and following a surgery etc. The symptoms of bacterial infection include fever, tiredness, headache, stomach pain, feeling sick or vomiting sensation etc.
Amoxicillin and Cloxacillin work by killing and managing the growth of bacteria by blocking the production of the bacterial cell wall. Before recommending SYMBIOTIK 250/250MG INJECTION, your doctor may want you to take relevant blood tests to understand your existing condition.
Before taking SYMBIOTIK 250/250MG INJECTION, inform your doctor if you have or ever had kidney disease (such as difficulty in passing urine, kidney failure, kidney injury etc.), liver disease, heart disease, viral or fungal infection (such as HIV, candidiasis/oral thrush etc.), malnutrition, suppressed immune system, bone marrow disorder, fits or seizure disorder, frequent diarrhoea, blood cancer etc. SYMBIOTIK 250/250MG INJECTION should be used with caution among women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. - infection of the sinus (sinusitis)
- heart infection (endocarditis)
- urinary tract or kidney infection

- following a surgical procedure etc.

SYMBIOTIK 250/250MG INJECTION contains Amoxicillin and Cloxacillin, which work by blocking the production of the bacterial cell wall. As a result, SYMBIOTIK 250/250MG INJECTION kills and manages the growth of bacteria.
How to use SYMBIOTIK 250/250MG INJECTION
SYMBIOTIK 250/250MG INJECTION will be given to you only by a doctor or a nurse into a vein as an intravenous infusion/ injection or into your muscles as an intramuscular injection. Your doctor will decide the correct dose, frequency and duration depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

Rare
Stop taking SYMBIOTIK 250/250MG INJECTION and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- severe allergic reactions (such as skin rash, itching, swelling of the face, neck, lips, tongue and other parts of the body, difficulty in breathing or wheezing, blisters on the skin, sore throat, fever, headache etc.)
- rash or pinpoint flat red circular patches beneath the skin's surface, or skin bruising
- skin reaction with pain, redness and itchiness especially occurring on the palms of the hand
- swollen areas on the skin surface, especially occurring on the surface of the mouth, eyes, genitals etc.
- body weakness, weight loss
- severe joint pain, headache, muscle pain, stomach pain
- fever with high temperature, sore throat
- swollen lymph nodes
- redness or swelling in the skin surface
- tenderness in the area of the mouth, eyes and genitals
- itching and scaling of the skin
- abnormal white blood cells
- increase in the level of liver enzymes
- severe diarrhea with bleeding
- dark-colored urine
- increased or abnormal white blood cell (WBC) or Red blood cell (RBC) count
- Abnormally elevated liver enzymes
- change in color of the skin and the white part of the eye (yellowish color)
How To Manage Side Effects
Diarrhea
Drink lots of fluids, such as water or fruit juice to keep yourself hydrated. Consult your doctor immediately if the symptoms worsen or persist.
Nausea And Vomiting
Take SYMBIOTIK 250/250MG INJECTION with, or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating rich or spicy food. Consult your doctor immediately if the symptoms worsen or persist.
Stomach Pain
Try to rest and relax. Eat and drink slowly or try to have smaller and frequent meals. Keep a heating pad on your stomach. If the symptom does not improve, contact your doctor.

Allergy
ContraindicatedDo not take SYMBIOTIK 250/250MG INJECTION if you are allergic to Amoxicillin or Cloxacillin. Also inform your doctor if you are allergic to beta-lactam antibiotics and other antibiotic medicines such as cephalosporins, penicillins etc.
Heart Disease

- probenecid, allopurinol – used to manage gout or arthritis
- oral contraceptives - used to abort the pregnancy
- warfarin – used to manage blood clots
- tetracycline – used to manage the bacterial infection
- methotrexate – used in the management of cancer and psoriasis
