Introduction About SUMO SPAS TABLET
SUMO SPAS TABLET is a combination of Camylofin and Nimesulide which belongs to the group of medicines called Anticholinergic and Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) respectively. It is used in the management of renal colic (pain when stone gets stuck in the urinary tract causing painful, bloody or cloudy urination), biliary colic (pain in the abdomen due to obstruction by stones in bile duct), intestinal colic (cramp like pain in the small or large intestine) and dysmenorrhea (period or menstrual cramps around the abdomen, hips, lower back).
Having a fiber rich diet, keeping yourself hydrated, quitting smoking and alcohol will help in the management process.
Before taking SUMO SPAS TABLET inform your doctor if you have liver, kidney, heart, prostate gland, thyroid gland, lung problems, stomach ulcers, bleeding disorder, bowel problems, having a surgery, glaucoma and fever.
Avoid consumption of alcohol during this management. SUMO SPAS TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor for advice.
SUMO SPAS TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents below 12 years of age. It should be used with caution in elderly patients above 65 years of age.
The most common side effects of taking SUMO SPAS TABLET are nausea, vomiting, constipation, blurred vision and dry mouth. Consult your doctor if symptoms do not improve.

It is used to manage:
- Renal, biliary colic and intestinal colic
- Period cramps
How SUMO SPAS TABLET Works
SUMO SPAS TABLET works by relieving muscle cramps and pain in which Camylofin relaxes the muscles in the stomach and intestine stopping sudden muscle contractions (spasms) and Nimesulide inhibits the enzyme cyclo-oxygenase and there by inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins that cause inflammation (redness and swelling) and pain.
How to use SUMO SPAS TABLET
Take SUMO SPAS TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the right dose and duration depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

Stop taking SUMO SPAS TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- anorexia, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, fatigue, dark urine (abnormal liver function)
- breathlessness, difficulty breathing when lying down, swelling of the feet or legs (signs of heart failure)
- signs of bleeding and ulcer in stomach, intestine
How To Manage Side Effects
Nausea or Vomiting:
Take this medicine with meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating rich or spicy food. If the symptom does not show improvement, consult your doctor.
Constipation:
Drink more fluids and high fiber food with regular exercise. If the symptom does not show improvement, consult your doctor.
Diarrhea:
Drink lots of water or fruit juice to keep yourself hydrated. If the symptom does not show improvement, consult your doctor.
Warning & Precautions
Pregnancy
SUMO SPAS TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women (more than 6 months) or women who are planning to become pregnant. SUMO SPAS TABLET should be used with caution in first 6 months of pregnancy. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Breastfeeding
SUMO SPAS TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Driving and Using Machines
Do not drive or use machines while taking SUMO SPAS TABLET as it may cause dizziness, drowsiness and visual disturbances.
Alcohol
Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking SUMO SPAS TABLET as it can worsen your side effects like drowsiness, liver damage.
Kidney
SUMO SPAS TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe kidney disease. SUMO SPAS TABLET should be used with caution in patients with mild to moderate kidney disease. Consult your doctor before taking.
Liver
SUMO SPAS TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver disease. SUMO SPAS TABLET should be used with caution in patients with mild to moderate liver disease. Consult your doctor before taking.
Allergy
Do not take SUMO SPAS TABLET if you are allergic to Camylofin or Nimesulide or any other ingredients of this medicine.
Lungs
SUMO SPAS TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with bronchospasm, rhinitis. SUMO SPAS TABLET should be used with caution in patients with obstructive airway disease and other lung disease. Consult your doctor before taking.
Heart Disease
SUMO SPAS TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with heart failure, stroke, mechanical stenosis. SUMO SPAS TABLET should be used with caution in patients having cardiac surgery. Consult your doctor before taking.
Others
SUMO SPAS TABLET is not recommended for use if you:
- have glaucoma
- have drug addiction
- have gastric-duodenal ulcer, bleeding from stomach or bowel
- have/had stroke
- are suffering from fever
- have cerebrovascular bleeding, bleeding disorder, coagulation disorder
- have prostatic hypertrophy
- have problems with blood circulation
Before taking SUMO SPAS TABLET, inform your doctor if you:
- have thyroid gland problem
- have ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease
- have fever
- are intolerant to certain sugars

Interactions
A. Drug - Drug interactions:
Before taking SUMO SPAS TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:
- warfarin (used to manage clotting problems)
- other analgesics or NSAIDs (Ex. paracetamol, ibuprofen)
- antidepressants (Ex. amitriptyline, imipramine, desipramine and lithium)
- diuretics (used to manage heart failure or blood pressure)
- anticancer agent (Ex. methotrexate)
- medications that suppress the immune system (Ex. tacrolimus, ciclosporin)
- medicine used to manage heart rhythm problems (Ex. quinidine)
- medicine used to manage movement disorders (Ex. amantadine)
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of SUMO SPAS TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdose include lethargy, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting and epigastric pain.
