    Introduction About STABLANZ 8MG TABLET

    STABLANZ 8MG TABLET is a combination of Betahistine and Ginkgo biloba which belongs to the group of medicines called Histamines and Anti-vertigo agents respectively. It used to improve memory and concentration, enhances mental performance and perceived wellbeing and it is effective in vestibular and non-vestibular vertigo.

    Vertigo is the sudden feeling of spinning sensation which is often triggered by moving the head quickly due to inner ear problems.

    STABLANZ 8MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with asthma, and low blood pressure. Consult your doctor for advice.

    STABLANZ 8MG TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant and breast-feeding women. Consult your doctor for advice.

    STABLANZ 8MG TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adoelscents below 12 years of age and it should be used with caution in elderly patients. Consult your doctor for advice.

    The most common side effects of taking STABLANZ 8MG TABLET are nausea, indigestion, headache. Consult your doctor if the above side effects does not improve.

    Uses Of STABLANZ 8MG TABLET

    It is used to:

    • improve memory and concentration
    • enhance mental performance and perceived wellbeing
    • manage vestibular and non-vestibular vertigo (sudden feeling of spinning)

    How STABLANZ 8MG TABLET Works

    STABLANZ 8MG TABLET is a combination of Betahistine and Ginkgo biloba where Betahistine reduces the vertigo symptoms by blocking histamine H3-receptors which increases the neurotransmitter serotonin for proper body balance. Ginkgo biloba improves the memory by protecting the brain cells from damage either by regulating the blood flow to brain or neutralising the toxins released by oxygen free radicals.

    How to use STABLANZ 8MG TABLET

    Take STABLANZ 8MG TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water and do not chew or crush the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct duration and dose for you depending upon the age, body weight and disease condition.

    Side Effects Of STABLANZ 8MG TABLET

    Common

    Rare

    • bleeding
    • diarrhoea

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Nausea or Vomiting:

    Take this medicine with, or just after meals. Stick to simple meals and try to avoid oil rich or spicy foods, sugary snacks, and drinks. Take liquid drink slowly in between meals. Consult your doctor for advice.

    Diarrhea:

    Drinking lots of fluids, such as water or fruit juice helps to keep yourself hydrated. Do not consume any medication on your own without physician consultation.

    Headache:

    Apply hot or cold-water bag on your head. Try to take rest in a quiet and dark room. Drink tea or coffee. Massage on scalp or head with mild pressure. Consult your doctor for advice.

    Skin rash:

    Avoid hot showers because hot water can irritate the skin. Do not rub or scratch the affected area. Use sunscreen and protective clothing when highly exposed to sunlight. Moisturize helps hydrate the affected area. If it does not get better, speak to a doctor.

    Driving and Using Machines

    Do not drive or handle any machines while taking STABLANZ 8MG TABLET, since it may cause dizziness. Consult your doctor for advice.

    Alcohol

    Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking STABLANZ 8MG TABLET because it can aggravate the side effects.

    Allergy

    Do not take STABLANZ 8MG TABLET if you are allergic to Betahistine, Ginkgo biloba or any other ingredients of this medicine.

    Lungs

    STABLANZ 8MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with asthma. Consult your doctor before taking STABLANZ 8MG TABLET.

    Heart Disease

    STABLANZ 8MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with low blood pressure. Consult your doctor before taking STABLANZ 8MG TABLET.

    Others

    STABLANZ 8MG TABLET is not recommended for use if you:

    • have pheochromocytoma (rare tumour of the adrenal gland)

    • have stomach ulcer (peptic ulcer)
    • have nettle rash, skin rash, allergic rhinitis
    • have forms of vertigo like benign positional vertigo, dizziness related to a disease of the central nervous system

    Use in pediatrics:

    • cetirizine, fexofenadine (medicine used to manage allergies)
    • Monoamine-oxidase inhibitors used to manage depression or Parkinson’s disease (Ex. isocarboxazid, phenelzine)
    • phenytoin, phenobarbital (medicines used to manage fits or seizures)
    • heparin (medicines used as blood thinners)
    • ibuprofen, diclofenac
    • amlodipine, diltiazem (medicines used to manage high blood pressure)
    • pantoprazole, omeprazole (medicines used to manage stomach ulcer)
    • anti-diabetics used to manage high blood sugar levels (Ex. metformin, glibenclamide)
    • sulphadiazine (used to manage bacterial infections)
