Introduction About SPASMONOVA TABLET
SPASMONOVA TABLET is a combination of Dicyclomine, Pamabrom and Paracetamol which belong to the groups of medicines called Anticholinergic, Diuretic and Antipyretic/Analgesic respectively. It is used for the management of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) (symptoms such as bloating, water weight gain, swelling and the feeling of being full), dysmenorrhea (painful menstruation), spasmodic pain and colic disease. It is also used to manage the pain and cramps that occur in irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medication as it may cause side effects. Avoid overheating by avoiding strenuous work or exercise in hot weather and using hot baths as they cause heatstroke due to less sweat. Before taking SPASMONOVA TABLET, inform your doctor if you have diarrhoea, ulcerative colitis, hyperthyroidism, hypertension, kidney problems, liver problems, known or suspected prostatic hypertrophy or heart problems.
SPASMONOVA TABLET is not recommended for use by pregnant or breastfeeding women. SPASMONOVA TABLET is not recommended for use in infants younger than 6 months of age. The most common side effects of this medicine are dry mouth, dizziness, blurred vision, nausea, vomiting, light-headedness, drowsiness, weakness and nervousness. Contact your physician if any of the above symptoms worsen.

How SPASMONOVA TABLET Works
SPASMONOVA TABLET is a combination of Dicyclomine, Pamabrom and Paracetamol. Dicyclomine is an anticholinergic drug that works by relaxing the muscles in the stomach and gut (intestine). It stops sudden muscle contractions (spasms) and relieves cramps, pain, bloating and discomfort. Pamabrom is a diuretic that increases the production of urine to remove excess water from the body and relieve premenstrual symptoms like bloating, water-weight gain, swelling and the feeling of being full. Paracetamol is an antipyretic (fever reducer) and analgesic (pain killer) that works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling).
How to use SPASMONOVA TABLET
Take SPASMONOVA TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with enough water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. The correct dose and duration will be decided by your physician for you depending on your age, body weight and disease condition.
Side Effects Of SPASMONOVA TABLET
Common
- dry mouth

Rare
Stop taking SPASMONOVA TABLET and contact your physician immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- fever and heat stroke (due to reduced sweating)
- allergic reaction (symptoms include hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat)
- confusion, hallucinations, unusual thoughts or behaviour, fast or uneven heart rate or urinating less than usual or not at all
How To Manage Side Effects
Nausea or vomiting:
Take this medicine with or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy foods.
Dizziness:
Lie down until the dizziness goes away and then move slowly and carefully. Take more amount of rest and drink more fluids. Consult your physician if your symptom worsens.
Dry Mouth:
Drink water more frequently, do regular mouth rinses and use sugarless candy.
Diarrhea:
Drink lots of fluids, like water or fruit juice to keep yourself hydrated. Do not consume any medicine on your own without consulting your physician.

Pregnancy
SPASMONOVA TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women. Contact your doctor before taking SPASMONOVA TABLET.
Breastfeeding
SPASMONOVA TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women as it may pass through the breast milk. Contact your doctor before taking SPASMONOVA TABLET.
Driving and Using Machines
Do not drive or operate any machines if you feel sleepiness, dizziness or blurred vision after taking SPASMONOVA TABLET.
Alcohol
Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking SPASMONOVA TABLET as it may lead to unwanted effects.
Kidney
SPASMONOVA TABLET should be used with caution in patients with known kidney disease. Contact your doctor before taking SPASMONOVA TABLET.
Liver
SPASMONOVA TABLET should be used with caution in patients with known liver disease. Contact your doctor before taking SPASMONOVA TABLET.
Allergy
Do not take SPASMONOVA TABLET if you are allergic to Dicyclomine, Pamabrom, Paracetamol or other ingredients of this medicine.
Heart Disease
SPASMONOVA TABLET should be used with caution in patients with heart diseases like coronary heart disease, congestive heart failure and cardiac tachyarrhythmia. Contact your doctor before taking SPASMONOVA TABLET.
Others
SPASMONOVA TABLET is not recommended for use if you have:
- obstructive uropathy
- severe ulcerative colitis
- reflux esophagitis
- glaucoma
- myasthenia gravis
Before taking SPASMONOVA TABLET, inform your doctor if you have:
- diarrhea
- ulcerative colitis
- hyperthyroidism
- known or suspected prostatic hypertrophy
Use in Pediatrics:
SPASMONOVA TABLET is not recommended for use in infants younger than 6 months of age. Contact your doctor before taking SPASMONOVA TABLET.
Use in Geriatrics:
SPASMONOVA TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients (65 years and above). Contact your doctor before taking SPASMONOVA TABLET.
Interactions
A. Drug-Drug interactions:
Inform your physician if you are using:
- medicine used to manage Parkinson's disease (Ex. amantadine)
- medicines used as antiarrhythmics (prevent and manage a heart rhythm that's too fast or irregular) (Ex. quinidine)
- medicine used to manage allergies (Ex. chlorpheniramine)
- medicines used as antipsychotics (Ex. phenothiazines)
- medicines used to manage anxiety, seizures and insomnia (Ex. alprazolam, diazepam)
- medicines used to manage depression (monoamine oxidases (MAO) inhibitors like isocarboxazid and tricyclic antidepressants (Ex. amitriptyline)
- medicines used as narcotic analgesics (Ex. meperidine)
- using nitrates and nitrites
- medicines used as a sympathomimetic (Ex. amphetamine)
- other medicines having an anticholinergic activity (Ex. amantadine)
- medicines used to manage nausea and vomiting (Ex. metoclopramide)
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally took too much of this medicine, consult your doctor immediately. The symptoms of overdosage may include headache, nausea, vomiting, blurred vision, dilated pupils, hot dry skin, dizziness, dryness of the mouth, difficulty in swallowing and CNS stimulation including convulsion.
