    Introduction About SORIFIX OINTMENT

    SORIFIX OINTMENT is a combination of Calcipotriol and Clobetasol which belongs to the group of medicines called Topical Corticosteroids. It is indicated for the topical management of plaque psoriasis. Plaque psoriasis (psoriasis vulgaris) is an autoimmune disease that causes cells to reproduce very quickly which causes thick, scaly patches called plaques on the skin.

    SORIFIX OINTMENT is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver and kidney disease, skin atrophy, viral infections such as chicken pox or measles, skin infections and other skin diseases.

    SORIFIX OINTMENT is intended for external use only. Managed areas need not be covered with a plaster or bandage. Avoid applying this medicine around your eyes, including eyelids. Do not apply SORIFIX OINTMENT on the face.

    There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Therefore, it should be used during pregnancy unless the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Consult your doctor before using SORIFIX OINTMENT. It should be used with caution in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before using it.

    There is no clinical trial experience in children. Children may demonstrate greater susceptibility to systemic steroid related adverse effects due to a larger skin surface area to body weight ratio as compared to adults. Consult your doctor before using. SORIFIX OINTMENT should be used with caution in elder patients. The most common side effects of SORIFIX OINTMENT are skin irritation and mild aggravation of the disease. Consult your doctor if any of the above side effects worsen or persists for a long duration.

    How SORIFIX OINTMENT Works

    SORIFIX OINTMENT works by managing psoriasis and its effects on the skin. Calcipotriol works by blocking the formation of new cells and manages accumulation of these cells. It plays a major role in managing psoriasis and helps body’s immunity to alter the cause of disease. Clobetasol belongs to corticosteroid helps in reducing inflammation by supressing the mediators responsible for it.

    How to use SORIFIX OINTMENT

    Apply SORIFIX OINTMENT as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. Apply a thin layer of this medicine on the affected area. Avoid applying this medicine around your eyes, including eyelids.

    Do not use SORIFIX OINTMENT if you are allergic to Calcipotriol or Clobetasol or any other ingredients of this medicine.

    Lungs

    Contraindicated

    SORIFIX OINTMENT is not recommended for use in patients with skin manifestations in relation to tuberculosis. Consult your doctor before using it.

    Others

    SORIFIX OINTMENT is not recommended for use if you:

    • have hypercalcemia or evidence of vitamin D toxicity
    • have active viral illnesses such as chicken pox or measles
    • have skin lesions
    • have fungal, bacterial or skin infections
    • have parasitic infections
    • have skin manifestations in relation to syphilis
    • have visible blood vessels on face
    • have perioral dermatitis (reddish rash around mouth)
    • have acne
    • have skin thinning (skin atrophy)
    • have striae atrophicae (stretch marks)
    • have thinning of skin veins
    • have ichthyosis (rough, dry scaly skin)
    • have ulcers, wounds
    • have itching in the genitals
    • have other types of psoriasis (such as guttate, erythrodermic, exfoliative and pustular psoriasis)

    Use in Pediatrics:
