Description
Smith & Nephew Opsite Post-Op is a post-operative dressing that combines a transparent, waterproof film with a highly absorbent, low-adherent pad. It is designed for use on post-operative wounds, minor cuts, abrasions, and lacerations with low to moderate exudate levels. The dressing provides a barrier against bacteria, helping to reduce the risk of infection, while the breathable film manages moisture to support the healing process. Its construction allows for patient comfort and flexibility.
Bacterial Barrier: The transparent film acts as a barrier to bacteria, including MRSA, which helps to protect the wound from external contamination and reduces the risk of infection. Waterproof Film: The dressing is impermeable to water, allowing patients to shower without needing to change the dressing. Highly Absorbent Pad: Features a thick, highly absorbent pad that manages wound exudate, reducing the frequency of dressing changes and minimizing the risk of skin maceration. Low-Adherent Wound Contact Layer: The pad has a low-adherent surface that helps to minimize trauma and discomfort during dressing removal. Conformable and Flexible: Designed to be comfortable and conform to body contours, allowing for freedom of movement without restriction.

Direction for Use/Dosage
Ensure hands are clean before handling the dressing. Clean and dry the wound and surrounding skin area thoroughly. Peel back the paper carrier marked '1' to expose the adhesive surface. Position the dressing over the wound and gently press it down. Remove the remaining backing paper and smooth the dressing down from the center outwards. Finally, remove the transparent plastic carrier on top, marked '2', leaving the film in place. To remove, gently lift a corner and stretch the film parallel to the skin to release the adhesive.
