    Introduction About SILVOWEL GEL

    SILVOWEL GEL contains Nanocrystalline Silver, which belongs to the group of medicines called Antimicrobials. It is used in the management of burns and wound infections. It is also used for the management of surgical cuts, leg ulcers, pressure sores, abrasions, blisters, cracked skin, minor skin cuts, and for prophylaxis of infection at the skin graft donor site.

    Do not use it if you are allergic to nanocrystalline silver or any other ingredients of this medicine. There are no adequate studies on the use of SILVOWEL GEL in pregnant women. It should be used only if clearly needed and justified by the doctor.

    SILVOWEL GEL should be used with caution in breastfeeding women, as it is not known whether this medicine passes into the human breast milk. Consult your doctor before using it. The safety and effectiveness of SILVOWEL GEL have not been established in children. Consult your child’s doctor for advice.

    The most common side effects of using SILVOWEL GEL are skin necrosis, erythema multiforme, burning sensation, rashes, and interstitial nephritis. Consult your doctor if any of the side effects worsen.

    How to use SILVOWEL GEL

    Apply SILVOWEL GEL as advised by your doctor. It is for external use only. Clean the wound thoroughly. Apply a layer of SILVOWEL GEL to shallow wounds or fill deep wounds completely. Cover with appropriate dressing (gauze, hydrocolloid, foam, or film). Change the dressing daily or as directed by your doctor. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of SILVOWEL GEL for you depending upon your age, body weight, and disease condition.
