    Introduction About SHCORTY H17 CREAM

    SHCORTY H17 CREAM contains Hydrocortisone acetate which belongs to the group of medicines called Corticosteroids. SHCORTY H17 CREAM is used to manage all types of eczema (type of skin inflammation) and dermatitis (itching) in adults and children (aged above 3 months).

    SHCORTY H17 CREAM is also used to manage photodermatitis (itching caused by exposure to light) and dermatitis that occurs due to skin irritants and allergies. It is also indicated for use to manage psoriasis (itchy skin) on small areas of the scalp, hand, and/or feet in affected individuals.

    SHCORTY H17 CREAM is not recommended for use in patients allergic to hydrocortisone butyrate. It is also not recommended for use in patients with unmanageed skin disorders (caused by bacteria/viral/fungal/parasitic infection), skin problems (associated with syphilis/tuberculosis), perioral dermatitis (inflammation of the skin around the mouth), pimples/acne, and/or reddened facial skin.

    Before applying SHCORTY H17 CREAM, inform your doctor if you are a smoker and/or had a previous skin infection/sensitive skin (to corticosteroids), and suffer from liver disease.

    SHCORTY H17 CREAM is generally not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women unless it is clearly necessary.

    SHCORTY H17 CREAM is indicated for use in children and adolescents (aged above 3 months).  The medicine is advised to be used with caution in elderly patients (aged above 65 years) after consulting the doctor.

    The most common side effects of applying SHCORTY H17 CREAM are atrophy (thinning of muscle tissue), stretch marks, rosacea (red pus-filled bumps on face), perioral dermatitis (inflammation of skin around mouth), acne, and/or purpura (purple coloured rash). Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsen.

    Uses Of SHCORTY H17 CREAM

    • Manage all types of eczema, and dermatitis
    • Manage photodermatitis and dermatitis caused by skin irritants and allergies
    • Manage psoriasis in affected individuals

    How SHCORTY H17 CREAM Works

    SHCORTY H17 CREAM works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers (responsible for inflammation and allergies) in the body which results in providing relief from eczema, dermatitis, and psoriasis in affected individuals.

    How to use SHCORTY H17 CREAM

    Always apply SHCORTY H17 CREAM as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. Apply a thin layer of this medicine on the affected area. Avoid applying this medicine around your eyes, including your eyelids. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending on your age, body weight and disease condition.

    Side Effects Of SHCORTY H17 CREAM

    Common

    • atrophy (thinning/loss of muscle tissue)
    • stretch marks
    • rosacea (red puss-filled bumps on the face)
    • perioral dermatitis (inflammation of the skin around the mouth)
    • acne (pimples)
    • purpura (purple-coloured rash)

    Uncommon

    • hypertrichosis (a condition marked by excessive hair growth)
    • pigment alteration (post-inflammatory skin damage)
    • delayed wound healing
    • exacerbation of skin infections 

    Rare

    • thinning/redness of the skin, discolouration of the skin
    • bruising, stretch marks, acne
    • perioral dermatitis (redness of the skin around the mouth)
    • worsening of the skin condition during management

    Breastfeeding

    SHCORTY H17 CREAM is generally not recommended in breastfeeding women unless it is clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Driving and Using Machines

    SHCORTY H17 CREAM is unlikely to affect your ability to drive or operate machines.

    Liver

    SHCORTY H17 CREAM should be used with caution in patients with liver diseases. Consult your doctor before applying SHCORTY H17 CREAM.

    Allergy

    Do not apply SHCORTY H17 CREAM if you are allergic to hydrocortisone butyrate, and/or any other ingredients of this medicine. 

    Others

    SHCORTY H17 CREAM is not recommended for use if you:

    • have unmanageed skin disorder (caused by bacteria/viral/fungal/parasitic infection)
    • have skin problems associated with syphilis/tuberculosis)
    • suffer from perioral dermatitis (inflammation of skin around mouth)
    • have pimples/acne, and/or reddened facial skin.  

    Before taking SHCORTY H17 CREAM, inform your doctor if you:

    Interactions

    A. Drug - Drug interactions:

    Inform your doctor if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines.

    Overdose:

    If you or anyone else applied too much of SHCORTY H17 CREAM or accidentally swallowed the medicine, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital to manage the overdose symptoms.
