Introduction About SALMOL 2.5 RESPULES
SALMOL 2.5 RESPULES is used to manage asthma in adults and children aged 4 to 11 years of age and breathing difficulties associated with reversible airway obstruction (Ex. chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). It contains Salbutamol, which belongs to the group of medicines called Bronchodilators, which relaxes the smooth muscles of the airways and widens them, making breathing easier.
Asthma is a long-term respiratory disease in which your airways become inflamed, swollen, and narrowed. It also causes excessive mucous secretion in the airways, which makes it difficult for the air to pass through, leading to unpleasant symptoms like wheezing, difficulty breathing, chest pain, and/or coughing.
SALMOL 2.5 RESPULES is suitable for use both in adults and in children (aged 4 years or older). Before using SALMOL 2.5 RESPULES, inform your doctor if you have diabetes, overactive thyroid functions, low blood potassium levels, high blood pressure, or any heart problems (such as angina or an irregular heartbeat) as a precaution.
SALMOL 2.5 RESPULES should be used in pregnant or breastfeeding women only if it is considered necessary by the physician. The most common side effects of using SALMOL 2.5 RESPULES are tremors, headaches, mouth or throat irritation, and muscle cramps. Contact your doctor if any of these side effects worsen.
Uses Of SALMOL 2.5 RESPULES
It is used in adults and in children (aged 4 years or older) to manage:
- Asthma
- breathing difficulties associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
How SALMOL 2.5 RESPULES Works
SALMOL RESPULES is a bronchodilator that relaxes the smooth muscles of the airways and widens the airways in the lungs. Therefore, it allows the air to pass through more freely, makes breathing easier, and makes you feel less breathless, wheezy, or tight-chested.
How to use SALMOL 2.5 RESPULES
Use SALMOL RESPULES medicine every day until your doctor tells you to stop. It is meant for inhalation only. Inhale the medicine only through your mouth into the lungs and not through the nose. This medicine must be used along with a suitable nebulizer prescribed by your doctor.
Follow the instructions given in the enclosed leaflet.
- Twist and open the ampoules
- Squeeze out all the liquid from the ampoule into the nebulizer chamber
- Dilute the contents with sterile saline solution (sodium chloride) if instructed by your doctor
- Turn on the nebulizer and breathe in the fine ‘mist’ calmly and deeply using a face mask or mouthpiece
- Once inhalation is over, rinse your mouth with water, spit it out, or brush your teeth
Your doctor will decide the correct dose (number of ampoules to be used), duration of therapy, and type of nebulizer device for you depending upon your age, body weight, and disease condition.
During inhalation, protect your eyes and face from the mist to avoid irritation. After inhalation, rinse the nebulizer and face mask mouthpiece with warm water.
Children must use this medicine only under the careful supervision of adults.
