Introduction About ROXZY 50MG SYRUP
ROXZY 50MG SYRUP contains Roxithromycin which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. It is used to manage bacterial infections in children such as respiratory tract infections (pneumonia, acute and chronic bronchitis, bronchopneumonia), ENT infections (pharyngitis, sinusitis, tonsillitis, otitis media), skin infections (folliculitis, furuncles, carbuncles, cellulitis, pyoderma, impetigo, infected dermatitis) and genital infections (urethritis, prostatitis, cervicitis, salpingitis)
Prior to the management, your doctor may want you to take several blood tests to examine your child’s existing condition. Consult your doctor before giving ROXZY 50MG SYRUP to your child.
ROXZY 50MG SYRUP is not recommended for use in children having liver impairment. Consult your doctor before giving ROXZY 50MG SYRUP to your child.
It should be used with caution among children with heart disease like cardiac arrythmias or irregular heartbeat. Consult your doctor before giving ROXZY 50MG SYRUP.
ROXZY 50MG SYRUP should be used with caution in children and adolescents (2 months to 15 years of age). Your doctor will prescribe the right dose and duration depends on your child’s age, body weight and severity of the infection.
ROXZY 50MG SYRUP may cause minor side effects such as nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhoea although not everybody gets them. Consult your doctor if any of the side effects worsen or persist for a longer duration.

It is used to manage bacterial infections in children such as:
- respiratory tract infections
- ENT infections
- skin infections
- genital infections
How ROXZY 50MG SYRUP Works
ROXZY 50MG SYRUP works by inhibiting the protein synthesis through cell wall penetration of the suspectable organisms and binding on the 50 S ribosomal subunit of bacteria thereby terminating the bacterial growth. As a result, it blocks the growth of the bacteria and stops the infection from spreading.
How to use ROXZY 50MG SYRUP
Always give ROXZY 50MG SYRUP to your child as directed by your physician. Shake well before use. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for your child depending upon the age, body weight and severity of infection.
Side Effects Of ROXZY 50MG SYRUP
Common
- diarrhoea
- nausea, vomiting
- abdominal or stomach pain

How To Manage Side Effects
Diarrhoea:
Give the child to drink lots of fluids such as water or fruit juices so that the child is sufficiently hydrated. Do not administer any medicine on your own to manage the condition. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.
Nausea or Vomiting:
Give this medicine to the child with, or just after a meal or snack. Give simple meals and avoid oily rich or spicy foods. Consult your doctor if there is no improvement in symptoms.
Headache:
Apply a hot or cold-water bag on your child’s head. Try to make them rest in a quiet and dark room. Massage on scalp or head with mild pressure. Consult your doctor for advice.
Stomach pain:
Give smaller and frequent meals. Keep a heat pad on your child’s stomach. If the symptom does not improve, contact your child’s doctor.

Driving and Using Machines
Do not allow your child drive or play outdoors, as ROXZY 50MG SYRUP may cause dizziness or blurry vision. Consult your doctor before giving ROXZY 50MG SYRUP.

Liver
ROXZY 50MG SYRUP is not recommended for use in children having liver impairment. Consult your doctor before giving ROXZY 50MG SYRUP.

Allergy
Do not give ROXZY 50MG SYRUP if your child is allergic to Roxithromycin or any other ingredients of this medicine.

Heart Disease

Interactions
A. Drug - Drug interactions:
Before giving ROXZY 50MG SYRUP, inform your doctor if your child is taking any of the following medicine:
- ergotamine or dihydroergotamine (used to manage migraine headache)
- carbamazepine (used to manage epilepsy)
- ranitidine and antacids like aluminium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide (medicines used to relieve indigestion, heartburn)
- prednisolone (used to manage inflammatory and autoimmune diseases)
Overdosage:
If the child or anyone else accidentally took too much of ROXZY 50MG SYRUP, consult your doctor immediately or visit any nearby hospital.
