Description
The Romsons Nasopharyngeal Airway is a flexible tube designed to be inserted into the nasal passage to secure an open airway. It is suitable for use in intensive care settings for suctioning or as an alternative when an oropharyngeal airway is occluded. Made from a soft, medical-grade polymer, it is designed to conform to the nasopharyngeal anatomy for patient comfort. This device is particularly useful for semi-conscious patients as it is less likely to provoke a gag reflex.
Anatomical Design: The tube's design conforms to the nasopharyngeal anatomy for patient comfort. Atraumatic Insertion: A specially designed bevel tip and soft, rounded edges help to reduce mucosal trauma during insertion. Flexible Material: Manufactured from medical-grade PVC, the tube is soft, flexible, and resistant to kinking. Clear Sizing: The tube is marked with its internal diameter for straightforward size identification. Sterile and Ready for Use: Each airway is individually packed in a peelable pouch and is sterilised, ready for immediate use.
Q: Is this device intended for single use?
A: Yes, the Romsons Nasopharyngeal Airway is individually packed in a peelable pack and is sterile, intended for one-time patient use to maintain hygiene and prevent cross-contamination.
Q: What is the primary purpose of this nasopharyngeal airway?
A: It is designed to be inserted into the nasal passage to create and maintain a clear airway, especially when the oral passage is blocked or in patients with a reduced level of consciousness.
Q: What material is the airway made from?
A: The tube is manufactured from a soft, flexible, and kink-resistant medical-grade PVC polymer that is designed to conform to the nasopharyngeal anatomy for patient comfort.
Q: How is the design suited for patient safety?
A: It features an atraumatic, soft-rounded, and specially beveled tip to reduce the risk of mucosal injury during insertion.
Q: Who should use this medical device?
A: This is a medical device intended for use by trained healthcare professionals in settings such as ICUs, emergency care, and anesthesia for airway management.

Key Benefits
Maintains a patent airway by bypassing upper airway obstructions. Can be used in conscious or semi-conscious patients as it is less likely to trigger a gag reflex compared to oropharyngeal airways. Facilitates nasotracheal suctioning in intensive care environments. Constructed from soft, flexible material for enhanced patient comfort during use. Suitable for use in patients with certain facial injuries where an oral airway may not be appropriate.

Direction for Use/Dosage
This procedure should only be performed by a trained healthcare professional. Select the appropriate size for the patient. Lubricate the nasopharyngeal airway with a water-soluble lubricant. Gently insert the airway into a nostril, typically the right one, with the bevel facing the septum. Advance the tube along the floor of the nasal passage until the flange rests against the nostril. If resistance is met, a gentle rotating motion may help, but do not force the airway. After insertion, confirm proper placement and check for adequate air exchange.

Safety Information/Precaution
For single use only. Do not reuse. To be used by or under the supervision of a qualified medical professional. Ensure the correct size is chosen to avoid complications. Do not force the airway if resistance is encountered during insertion, as this can cause trauma and bleeding. Contraindicated in patients with suspected nasal or basilar skull fractures. Consult a healthcare professional before use, especially for patients with existing medical conditions or those on other medications.
