Description
The Resmed Airfit F20 Full Face Mask is a non-invasive accessory intended to channel airflow from a positive airway pressure (PAP) device to a patient. It is designed for individuals weighing more than 30 kg for whom this therapy has been prescribed. The mask features an InfinitySeal™ silicone cushion that adapts to various facial profiles to create a secure seal. Its frame is designed to provide an open field of vision by avoiding forehead support, allowing users to read or watch TV before sleep.
InfinitySeal™ Cushion: Features an adaptive silicone cushion designed to fit a wide range of facial shapes and sizes, providing a reliable seal and reducing leakage.
Open Visibility Design: The under-the-eye frame offers stability without forehead support, minimizing facial contact and providing a clear line of sight.
Magnetic Clips and Quick-Release Elbow: Magnetic clips allow for intuitive fitting, while a quick-release elbow enables easy disconnection from the CPAP tubing without removing the mask.
QuietAir™ Vent Technology: Incorporates a diffuser vent that breaks up exhaled air to minimize noise, contributing to a quieter environment.
Padded Headgear: The plush headgear is designed for extra softness and comfort, helping to reduce pressure and red marks.
Q: Is the Resmed Airfit F20 mask compatible with all CPAP machines?
A: This mask is designed to be compatible with most CPAP and bilevel devices that use a standard 22mm connection. For specific device settings, it is often recommended to select the 'Full Face' option on the machine.
Q: How should I clean the Airfit F20 mask?
A: The mask components, including the frame, elbow, and cushion, should be hand-washed daily in warm water with a mild liquid detergent. The headgear can be washed weekly in the same manner. All parts should be rinsed thoroughly and left to air dry out of direct sunlight.
Q: What is the purpose of the InfinitySeal cushion?
A: The InfinitySeal cushion is made of silicone and is designed to provide a reliable seal for a wide variety of facial shapes and sizes. Its design helps to accommodate movement during sleep and maintain a secure fit across a range of therapy pressures.
Q: Are there any contraindications for using this mask?
A: Yes, due to the use of magnets in the headgear clips and frame, this mask is contraindicated for individuals with certain medical implants, such as pacemakers, defibrillators, metallic hemostatic clips in the head, or metallic splinters in the eyes. It is advisable to keep the mask at least 50 mm away from such implants.
Q: How do the magnetic clips and quick-release elbow work?
A: The magnetic clips on the lower headgear straps allow for simple and swift attachment and detachment from the mask frame. The quick-release elbow permits you to disconnect the tubing from the mask without having to take the entire mask off, which is convenient for temporary disruptions.
