    Introduction About RAZO 20MG TABLET

RAZO 20MG TABLET contains Rabeprazole which belongs to the group of medicines called Proton pump inhibitors. It is used to manage Gastro-esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), peptic ulcer and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (tumours in the pancreas causing the stomach to secrete more acid).

GERD is a chronic digestive disease in which the stomach acid frequently flows into the oesophagus leading to the irritation of lining of the food pipe. Symptoms include heartburn, chest pain, nausea, sensation of lump in throat and stomach discomfort.

Peptic ulcers are painful sores that develop on the linings of the stomach, oesophagus and/or intestines. Symptoms include stomach pain, flatulence, indigestion, vomiting and fatigue.

Take it preferably before meals or as directed by the physician. Before taking RAZO 20MG TABLET inform your doctor if you have any liver problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have vitamin B12 deficiency, osteoporosis or any tumors in your stomach.

Do not take RAZO 20MG TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding without consulting your doctor. The most common side effects are oral sores, constipation, indigestion, stomach pain, headache and dizziness. Consult your doctor if any of the side effect troubles you.

You must also inform your doctor immediately if you experience severe uncontrollable diarrhea with stomach pain or tenderness after taking RAZO 20MG TABLET.

    How RAZO 20MG TABLET Works

    How Rabeprazole Blocks Proton Pumps

Rabeprazole, the active ingredient in Razo 20mg Tablet, targets and irreversibly inhibits proton pumps (H+/K+ ATPase) in stomach parietal cells, which are responsible for acid secretion.

Acid Secretion Suppression and Increased Stomach pH

By blocking the final step of acid production, Razo 20mg reduces gastric acid release, leading to a higher stomach pH and relief from acid-related discomfort.

Conversion to Active Form in Acidic Environment

Rabeprazole is converted into an active sulfenamide intermediate in acidic conditions, which then forms covalent bonds with proton pumps to inhibit their activity.

Sustained Acid Control Through Irreversible Binding

The irreversible binding prevents acid secretion until new proton pumps are synthesized, providing prolonged acid suppression and symptom relief.
