RANTAC MPS LA SUSPENSION is a combination of Magaldrate, Oxetacaine, and Simethicone, which belongs to the group of medicines called Antacid, Local Anaesthetic and Anti-flatulence, respectively. It is used for the management of acidity, heartburn, gas, and stomach ulcers. The stomach is generally protected from acid by a mucous layer.
In some cases, due to excess production of acid, the mucous layer gets eroded, which leads to problems like acidity and heartburn. Bloating occurs when the abdomen is filled with air or gas. Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption while taking RANTAC MPS LA SUSPENSION, as it leads to increased production of stomach acid, thereby increasing acidity and heartburn.
RANTAC MPS LA SUSPENSION is not recommended for use in patients with hepatic and renal impairments. RANTAC MPS LA SUSPENSION is not recommended for use by pregnant or breastfeeding women. RANTAC MPS LA SUSPENSION is not recommended for use in children, and it should be used with caution in elderly patients. Simethicone is an antiflatulent that works by decreasing gas bubbles' surface tension, thereby facilitating gas expulsion through flatus or belching (burping). It also manages gas accumulation and formation in the digestive tract.
