Introduction About RACIGYL KID TABLET
RACIGYL KID TABLET contains Racecadotril which belongs to the group of medicines called Antidiarrheals. It is used in children for the management of acute diarrhoea (sudden onset of three or more loose stools per day, lasting less than 14 days).
Symptoms associated with diarrhoea includes abdominal cramps and pain, nausea, vomiting and severely it may cause blood or pus in the stool.
Before administering RACIGYL KID TABLET to your child, inform child’s doctor if your child has kidney, liver, lungs or heart diseases.
This medicine may cause side effects such as tonsillitis, rash and erythema (skin redness). Consult your child’s doctor if any of the side effects worsens or if your child experiences any unusual effects.

How RACIGYL KID TABLET Works
RACIGYL KID TABLET helps in the management of diarrhoea as it has an antisecretory mechanism. It acts on the naturally occurring substances in our body called endogenous opioids (enkephalins) and manages their degradation which reduces the secretion of water and electrolytes in the intestine without disturbing the movements of the intestines.
How to use RACIGYL KID TABLET
Give RACIGYL KID TABLET to your child as advised by the physician. Dissolve the medicine in a glass of water and then give it to your child to drink immediately. Your child’s doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of RACIGYL KID TABLET for your child depending upon the age, body weight and disease condition.
Side Effects Of RACIGYL KID TABLET

Stop giving RACIGYL KID TABLET to your child and contact doctor immediately if your child experiences any of the following side effects:
- angioedema characterized by swollen face, tongue or pharynx, difficulty in swallowing, hives and difficulty in breathing

How To Manage Side Effects
Skin rash:
Tell your child not to scratch the affected area. Wear protective clothing for your child while going outdoors. Regularly moisturize your child’s skin. Consult your child’s doctor if the symptom does not improve.

Overdosage:
If your child or anyone else accidentally takes too much of RACIGYL KID TABLET, consult your child’s doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
