Introduction About PROCTO CLYSIS ENEMA
PROCTO CLYSIS Enema is a bowel cleansing preparation used to cleanse your bowel prior to surgeries, medical examination, childbirth or any other medical conditions. It can be used in patients with occasional constipation. It contains sodium phosphates as active ingredient.
Sodium phosphates works by drawing water into the intestines which softens hard stools thus facilitating the easy passage of faeces.
Do not use PROCTO CLYSIS Enema if you are allergic to sodium phosphates or have any gut problems like megacolon, blockage in the gut, paralytic ileus, appendicitis, damage or hole in the intestines, inflammatory bowel diseases (such as Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis), undiagnosed bleeding of the back passage, kidney problems or heart problems (such as heart failure).
Before using PROCTO CLYSIS Enema inform your doctor if you have high blood pressure, any recent surgery done on gut, anus or rectum, electrolyte disturbances, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding as a precaution.
PROCTO CLYSIS Enema is for rectal use only. It can be administered by a health care professional or can be self-administered. Wash your hands before and after use.
Lie down on one side or in any comfortable position. Carefully insert the tip of the nozzle into the rectum. Gently squeeze the bottle in such a way that it pushes most of the liquid into the back passage. However, you may not be able to empty the whole bottle. Push the liquid as far as your bowel can hold.
After administration, lie on your stomach and stay still for 5 minutes. This will manage any liquid from coming back. Be prepared to expect frequent loose bowel movements within 5 minutes of taking a dose of PROCTO CLYSIS Enema. If you have not had a bowel movement within this time, consult your doctor.
Along with the medicine, drink plenty of clear fluids e.g. water, clear soups, diluted cordials/fruit juice without pulp (but not red or purple coloured juices) to avoid dehydration.
