    Introduction About PRESIDIO TABLET

    PRESIDIO TABLET is a combination of Etoricoxib and Pregabalin which belongs to the group of medicines called Nonsteroidal Anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and Anticonvulsants respectively. It is used for the management of neuropathic pains associated with spinal cord injury, diabetic peripheral neuropathy (nerve damages with numbness, loss of sensation, and sometimes pain in your feet, legs, or hand due to high sugar levels), fibromyalgia (pain in soft tissues and muscles all over the body) and post herpetic neuralgias (burning pain in nerves mainly after shingles infection).

    It is not recommended to take PRESIDIO TABLET if you have serious liver diseases, kidney diseases, inflammatory bowel diseases, gastrointestinal bleeding, congestive heart failure, increased blood pressure and inflammatory bowel diseases. PRESIDIO TABLET is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation unless it is clearly necessary. Do not give PRESIDIO TABLET to children and adolescents below 16 years of age. Consult your doctor for before taking.

    PRESIDIO TABLET should be taken only under medical supervision as there is a chance of developing addiction, dependence and withdrawal reactions. The most common side effects of taking PRESIDIO TABLET includes dizziness, sleepiness, difficulty in concentrating, dry mouth, blurred vision, weight gain, swelling of hands or feet, cold and flu symptoms, and irregular heartbeat. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms gets worsened for you while taking PRESIDIO TABLET.

    It is used to manage neuropathic pain associated with:

    How PRESIDIO TABLET Works

    PRESIDIO TABLET is a combination of Etoricoxib and Pregabalin. Etoricoxib is a selective Cox 2 inhibitors that relieves pain by blocking the effects of cox 2 (cyclooxygenase 2) enzymes that are responsible for the production of prostaglandins (pain and inflammation). Pregabalin relieves pain by reducing the release of neurotransmitters by decreasing calcium influx at nerve endings.

    How to use PRESIDIO TABLET

    Take PRESIDIO TABLET as advised by your doctor. Swallow PRESIDIO TABLET with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose, duration of management based on your age, body weight and severity of conditions.

    Common

    • dizziness

    • increased heart rate, heart block, abnormal blood pressure
    • hot flushing
    • cough, nasal dryness, snoring, runny nose
    • saliva secretion
    • gastric disturbances
    • skin rashes
    • muscle and joint pain
    • abnormal urination
    • breast pain, abnormal periods
    • stomach pain, peptic ulcers, and bleeding
    • facial puffiness

    Rare

    • throat tightness
    • swelling in lungs
    • pancreatitis
    • swelling in tongue
    • loss of hunger
    • fluid collection in abdomen
    • cold sweat
    • breast enlargement and discharge
    • abnormal periods
    • decreased sodium and WBC count

    Stop taking PRESIDIO TABLET and contact your doctor if you experience:

    • swelling of face, lips, and throat with difficulty in breathing and talking (symptoms of angioedema)
    • suicidal thoughts or depression
    • memory loss, hallucinations, dependence, depression, stress, restlessness, agitation, irritability, aggression, delusion, nightmares
    • changes in salivation, increased liver enzyme levels, changes in the way you walk and muscle weakness
    • allergic reactions (Steven Johnson’s syndrome)
    • fits/seizures
    • urinary retention
    • vision disturbances
    • jaundice
    • low blood pressure, increased heart rate, loss of consciousness (symptoms of anaphylactic shock)

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Bloating

    Stick to simple meals. Drink enough fluids. Avoid eating oily, fried, or spicy foods. Take adequate rest. Consult doctor before taking any medication.

    Constipation

    Drink adequate amount of water. Include plenty of fruits and vegetables in your daily diet. Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption. Eat a well-balanced diet. Do exercises regularly.  Consult your doctor before taking any medicines.

    Dry Mouth

    Drink plenty of water and fruit juices and consume soft foods with higher water and fibre content.

    Headache

    Rest and relax. Drink plenty of fluids such as water. Apply a pain balm on your forehead and massage if needed. Consult doctor before taking any medication.

    Indigestion

    Eat a balanced diet. Avoid consumption of alcohol. Reduce the intake of spicy food. Drink plenty of water and other fluids to stay hydrated.

    Nausea And Vomiting

    Drink lots of water and fruit juices. Eat simple and light meals throughout the day. Stay away from oil rich and spicy foods. Consult your doctor if the symptoms are worsening.

    Alcohol

    Contraindicated

    Consumption of alcohol is not recommended while taking PRESIDIO TABLET as it may increase the risk of side effects.

    Kidney

    Contraindicated

    PRESIDIO TABLET is not recommended to be taken in patients with severe kidney diseases. Consult your doctor before taking it.

    Liver

    Consult your doctor

    PRESIDIO TABLET is not recommended for use if you have severe liver diseases. PRESIDIO TABLET should be taken with caution in patients diagnosed with liver diseases. Consult your doctor before taking PRESIDIO TABLET.

    Allergy

    Contraindicated

    Do not take PRESIDIO TABLET if you are allergic to Etoricoxib, Pregabalin or any other ingredients of this medicine.  

    Heart Disease

    Contraindicated

    PRESIDIO TABLET is not recommended to be taken in patients with increased blood pressure, congestive heart failure or any other heart diseases. Consult your doctor before taking PRESIDIO TABLET.

    Use In Pediatrics

    Contraindicated

    PRESIDIO TABLET is not recommended for children and adolescents below 16 years of age due to the lack of safety data. Consult your doctor before taking.

    Use In Geriatrics

    Use with Caution

    PRESIDIO TABLET should be used with caution to elderly people as they are at a higher risk of developing side effects such as dizziness, somnolence, reduced mental alertness, confusion. Consult your doctor before giving PRESIDIO TABLET to elderly people.

    Others

    PRESIDIO TABLET is not recommended for use if you have:

    • peptic ulcerations
    • irritable bowel syndrome
    • gastrointestinal bleeding

    A. Drug-Drug interactions:

    Before taking PRESIDIO TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines:

    • phenytoin, carbamazepine, lamotrigine, valproic acid (medicine used to manage fits)
    • lorazepam (medicine used to manage anxiety)
    • oxycodone (medicine used to manage pain)
    • ethanol (medicine used to manage infections)
    • diuretics (Ex. chlorothiazide, chlorthalidone)
    • angiotensin II antagonists (Ex. telmisartan, losartan)
    • acetyl salicylic acid (medicine used to relieve minor pain)
    • cyclosporin, tacrolimus (medicine used to manage body from rejecting transplanted organ)
    • methotrexate (medicine used to calm immune system)
    • lithium (medicine used to manage mania)
    • estradiol, norethindrone (medicine used to manage unwanted pregnancy)
    • minoxidil (medicine used to manage hair fall)
    • salbutamol (medicine used to manage cough)
    • rifampicin (medicine used to manage tuberculosis)

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally took too much of PRESIDIO TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdosage includes somnolence, confusions, agitation, restlessness, fits.
