Introduction About PREGATRON SYRUP
PREGATRON SYRUP is used to manage peripheral and central neuropathic pain, epilepsy and generalised anxiety disorder. It is also used as an adjunctive therapy in adults with partial seizures with or without secondary generalization. It contains Pregabalin which belongs to the group of medicines called Anticonvulsants.
Before taking PREGATRON SYRUP inform your doctor if you have or had any lung, liver, kidney, or heart problems. You must also inform your doctor before taking the medicine if you have diabetes, any other nerve or brain disorders or if you have a history of drug abuse. Avoid consuming alcohol while taking the medicine as it may make you feel dizzier which can eventually lead to an increased risk of injuries, falls or accidents. PREGATRON SYRUP should not be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding, unless you are told otherwise by your doctor.
PREGATRON SYRUP should be used with extreme caution in elderly patients (aged above 65 years) particularly in those who have kidney problems. It may alter the blood sugar levels, therefore regularly check your blood sugar levels as a precaution. The most common side are dizziness, drowsiness, headache, dry mouth or blurred vision. Contact your doctor if any of these side effects worsen.

It is used:
- To manage peripheral and central neuropathic pain
- As adjunctive therapy in adults with partial seizures with or without secondary generalization
- To manage epilepsy
- To manage generalised anxiety disorder
How PREGATRON SYRUP Works
PREGATRON SYRUP works by binding to the alpha2-delta subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels, which reduces the release of neurotransmitters and neuronal excitability. It acts as a specific analgesic for peripheral and central neuropathic pain by blocking the transmission of pain signals across the nervous system. It relieves anxiety by reducing the release of certain brain chemicals (GABA) that causes abnormal mood stimulation and anxiety.
How to use PREGATRON SYRUP
- Take PREGATRON SYRUP as advised by your physician
- Shake well before use
- It can be taken with or without food
- Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition
- Do not stop taking the medicine without consulting your doctor

Stop taking PREGATRON SYRUP and consult your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- serious skin reaction involving reddish non-elevated, target-like, or circular patches on the trunk, often with central blisters, skin peeling, ulcers of mouth, throat, nose, genitals, and eyes (Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis)
- swelling of the face, lips, tongue, and throat, as well as diffuse skin rash
- yellow discoloration of the skin and whites of the eyes
- self-harming thoughts
- visual disturbances
- convulsions

Use with CautionPREGATRON SYRUP should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged above 65 years). Hence the medicine has been associated with dizziness and somnolence, which could increase the occurrence of accidental injury (fall) in elderly patients.
Others
Before taking PREGATRON SYRUP, inform your doctor if you:
- have or had constipation
- have diabetes
- have a history of drug abuse
Interactions
Before taking PREGATRON SYRUP, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines such as:
- Strong opioids (Ex. oxycodone)
- Benzodiazepines (Ex. lorazepam)
- Oral contraceptives
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally took more of PREGATRON SYRUP, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdosage might include feeling sleepy, confused, agitated, or restlessness and fits.
