Introduction About PEGRED C POWDER
Pegred C Powder is a laxative used to clean the bowel before certain medical tests such as colonoscopy, barium enema X-ray exam in adults. It contains Polyethylene Glycol and Electrolytes as active ingredients.
Polyethylene glycol works by increasing water retention in the intestinal tract, there by producing loose stools. Electrolytes helps to manage dehydration and other serious side effects caused by fluid loss as the colon is emptied.
Take Pegred C Powder as advised by the doctor. It is for oral use only. Pour the contents of the packet into 1 litre of drinking water and stir several times to ensure that the ingredients are dissolved. Then make up to 2 litres with additional quantity of drinking water.
For better taste, any of the two flavours can be added, provided with the packet. The solution is more palatable if chilled before administration. The reconstituted solution should be refrigerated and used within 48 hours. Discard unused portion. Do not use Pegred C Powder if you have gastrointestinal obstruction, bowel perforation, gastric retention, toxic colitis or mega colon is suspected.
