INTRODUCTION ABOUT PEDITRAL ORS POWDER
Peditral Ors Powder is an ORS rehydration powder used in children with diarrhoea and vomiting when there is a loss of water and electrolytes to restore fluid and electrolytes and maintain hydration. It contains Sodium chloride, Potassium chloride, Sodium citrate and Dextrose which are important to maintain normal fluid balance in the body.
The major component of ORS is glucose or dextrose. It makes the small intestine more capable of absorbing water and salt. It is necessary to restore these critical ions with sodium chloride and potassium chloride when vomiting and diarrhoea occur. When there is too much acid in the body because of diarrhoea, sodium citrate balances it out.
Give Peditral Ors Powder as directed by the doctor. It should be used with caution in patients with depressed kidney function, severe continuing diarrhea, or other critical fluid losses. Do not take if you are allergic to any of its ingredients.
