PANTOCID HP KIT TABLET is a combination of Clarithromycin, Pantoprazole and Amoxicillin which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics and Antiulcer agents. It is used to eradicate a bacteria called Helicobacter pylori in patients with active chronic gastritis, stomach and intestinal ulcers.
Along management with PANTOCID HP KIT TABLET your doctor might want you to make some lifestyle changes such as eating less spicy foods. Before starting the management with PANTOCID HP KIT TABLET your doctor might ask you to take some diagnostic tests to understand the existing condition.
Before taking PANTOCID HP KIT TABLET inform your doctor if you have liver, kidney or heart disease. PANTOCID HP KIT TABLET should be taken with caution in patients having fungal infections, glandular fever, problems in urinating, joint pains and due to take Chromogranin A test.
PANTOCID HP KIT TABLET should be used with caution in pregnant and breast-feeding women. The most common side effects of taking PANTOCID HP KIT TABLET are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, vomiting, indigestion and dry mouth. Talk to your doctor if any of these worsen or doesn’t improve.

How PANTOCID HP KIT TABLET Works
PANTOCID HP KIT TABLET effectively eradicates H. Pylori and manages ulcers, where Clarithromycin which belongs to a group of medicine called macrolide antibiotics which enters the bacteria and stop its growth thus relieving the infection. Amoxicillin is a penicillin antibiotic which interferes with the important life cycle of the bacteria leading to its destruction. Pantoprazole is a selective proton pump inhibitor, which acts on the cells present in the lining of the stomach and reduces the amount of acid produced in the stomach.
How to use PANTOCID HP KIT TABLET
Take PANTOCID HP KIT TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of PANTOCID HP KIT TABLET for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

How To Manage Side Effects
Headache:
Drink ample amount of water and avoid skipping meals. Get adequate rest. Try to be relaxed and stress free. Apply pain relieving balm on your forehead if necessary. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.
Stomach pain:
Try to rest and relax. Eat and drink slow or try to have smaller and frequent meals. Keep a heat pad on your stomach. If the symptom does not improve, contact your doctor.
Constipation:
Try to eat more high-fiber foods such as fresh fruit, vegetables, cereals and drink plenty of water. If this does not help, inform your doctor for receiving alternate management for constipation.
Diarrhoea:
Drink lot of fluids such as water to keep yourself hydrated. Avoid eating high-fat or spicy foods. Inform your doctor if the symptom gets worse.
Dry mouth:
Sip water regularly and other sugar free liquids. Do not use mouthwashes that contain alcohol because they can make your mouth dry, use mouthwash that is used only for dry mouth. Limit your caffeine intake. Avoid smoking or using tobacco products. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.

Pregnancy
PANTOCID HP KIT TABLET should be used with caution in pregnant women. Consult your doctor before taking it.

Breastfeeding
PANTOCID HP KIT TABLET should be used with caution in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking it.

Driving and Using Machines
Do not drive or operate any machines if you feel dizzy or disturbed vision after taking PANTOCID HP KIT TABLET.

Kidney
PANTOCID HP KIT TABLET should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems. Consult your doctor before taking PANTOCID HP KIT TABLET.

Liver
PANTOCID HP KIT TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver disease. It should be used with caution in patients with other liver disease. Consult your doctor before taking PANTOCID HP KIT TABLET.

Allergy
Do not take PANTOCID HP KIT TABLET if you are allergic to Clarithromycin, Pantoprazole or Amoxicillin.

Heart Disease
PANTOCID HP KIT TABLET is not recommended for use in patients having heart rhythm disorders. It should be used with caution in patients with heart problems such as heart failure, an unusually slow heart rate. Consult your doctor before taking PANTOCID HP KIT TABLET.
Others
Before taking PANTOCID HP KIT TABLET, inform your doctor if you:
- have fungal infections
- have glandular fever (sore throat, fever, swollen glands and extreme tiredness)
- have problems in urinating
- have joint pain
- are due to have blood test called Chromogranin A test
- have reduced Vitamin B12
- have rashes in areas exposed to sun

Use in Geriatrics:
Your doctor will advise the correct dose and duration of PANTOCID HP KIT TABLET for you depending upon your age, disease condition and body weight.
Interactions
A. Drug – Drug Interactions:
Before taking PANTOCID HP KIT TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines:
- medicines used for the management of heart problems (Ex. digoxin, disopyramide, quinidine), lower cholesterol (Ex. atorvastatin, rosuvastatin), high blood pressure (Ex. verapamil, amlodipine, diltiazem)
- medicines used for the management of epilepsy (Ex. carbamazepine, valproate, phenobarbital, phenytoin)
- medicines used in patients with breathing difficulties such as asthma (Ex. theophylline)
- sedatives (Ex. triazolam, alprazolam or midazolam)
- medicines used to manage poor circulation (Ex. cilostazol)
- corticosteroid (Ex. methylprednisolone) (used to manage inflammatory condition)
- medicines used for thinning the blood (Ex. warfarin, dabigatran, rivaroxaban, apixaban)
- medicines used to lower blood glucose levels (Ex. nateglinide, pioglitazone, repaglinide, rosiglitazone, gliclazide, glimepiride, insulin)
- medicines used for management of cancer (Ex. vinblastine, erlotinib)
- immune suppressants (Ex. ciclosporin, sirolimus, tacrolimus) (used to manage organ rejection after transplant)
- medicines used in the management of HIV (Ex. ritonavir, efavirenz, etravirine, nevirapine, zidovudine, atazanavir, saquinavir)
- medicines used for management of certain bacterial infections (Ex. rifampicin, rifapentine, rifabutin, lincomycin)

- medicines used for managing overactive bladder (Ex. tolterodine)
- medicines used for impotence in adult males or for use in pulmonary arterial hypertension (Ex. sildenafil, vardenafil, tadalafil)
- herbal product used to manage depression (Ex. St John’s Wort)
- medicine used to manage rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis and cancer (Ex. methotrexate)
- medicine used to manage depression and other psychiatric diseases (Ex. fluvoxamine)
- medicines used to manage gout (Ex. probenecid, allopurinol)
