Introduction About OVIX CREAM
OVIX CREAM is a combination of Beclomethasone dipropionate, Miconazole and Neomycin which belongs to a group of medicines called Corticosteroids, Antifungals and Aminoglycoside antibiotics, respectively. OVIX CREAM is used to manage, control, manage & improve the conditions and symptoms of runny nose, hay fever/allergic rhinitis (type of nose inflammation), ulcerative colitis (inflammatory bowel disease), asthma, hepatic coma (nervous system disorder that occurs due to severe liver disease), wound, ulcers, external ear infections, eye infections, diarrhea, napkin rash, paronychia (nail inflammation), bacterial infections and fungal infections such as vulvovaginal candidiasis and vaginal yeast infections.
A bacterial infection occurs when a bacterium enters the body and causes a reaction that leads to infection, which is characterised by symptoms such as difficulty breathing, persistent cough and fever. A fungal infection is a skin disease caused by a fungus that lives on plants, dirt and household surfaces and, upon contact, leads to skin diseases generally characterised by symptoms such as irritation, scaly skin, itching and swelling in the affected individuals.
OVIX CREAM is not recommended for use in patients with skin problems such as acne (pimples), rosacea (severe flushing of the skin), perioral dermatitis (spotty red rash around your mouth), viral infections, fungal infections and skin blisters or sores that are caused by an infection.
Before applying OVIX CREAM, inform your doctor if you have cystic fibrosis (a genetic disorder that damages the lungs, digestive tract and other organs), psoriasis (itchy skin), abdominal pain, chills or fever. OVIX CREAM should be used with caution during pregnancy and only when necessary in breastfeeding women.
It is not recommended for use in children (below 1 year) and should be used with caution in children and adolescents (aged 2 to 18 years) after consulting the doctor. The most common symptoms of applying OVIX CREAM are an itchy rash, burning or stinging sensations and/or itchiness at the site of the application. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms get worse.

How OVIX CREAM Works
OVIX CREAM helps to manage bacterial and fungal skin infections. Beclomethasone dipropionate works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Miconazole manages fungal infections by managing them from forming their protective covering. Neomycin manages bacterial growth by inhibiting protein synthesis, which results in a bacteriostatic effect.
How to use OVIX CREAM
Always apply OVIX CREAM, as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. On the affected area, apply a thin layer of this medicine. Managed areas on the face need not be covered with a plaster or bandage. Do not apply OVIX CREAM to your face beyond 5 days. Avoid applying OVIX CREAM around your eyes, including your eyelids.
Side Effects Of OVIX CREAM
Common

Rare
- local irritation on the site of application
Stop applying OVIX CREAM and contact your doctor if you experience any of the following side effects:
- signs of severe allergic reaction such as nettle rash, severe irritation, reddening or blistering of the skin
- swelling of the face, tongue or throat, difficulty swallowing or difficulty breathing
- burning sensation, itching, redness or rash on the skin
How To Manage Side Effects
Itchy Skin:
Avoid scratching your skin. Cool your skin by holding on to a damp towel. Try to have cool or warm baths. Wear loose clothing and do not wear tight clothes. Try to avoid using perfumed soaps, deodorants or moisturizers and always use unscented moisturizers.

Pregnancy
OVIX CREAM should be used with caution during pregnancy and in women planning for pregnancy only if it is necessary. Consult your doctor before applying OVIX CREAM.
Breastfeeding
OVIX CREAM should be used with caution in breastfeeding women only if it is necessary. Consult your doctor before applying OVIX CREAM.
Driving and Using Machines
Do not drive or operate heavy machinery while applying OVIX CREAM. Consult your doctor before applying OVIX CREAM.
Allergy
OVIX CREAM is not recommended for use if you are allergic to Beclomethasone dipropionate, Miconazole, Neomycin or any other ingredients of this medicine.
Others
OVIX CREAM is not recommended for use if you:
- have skin problems such as acne (pimples), rosacea (severe flushing of skin on and around your nose), perioral dermatitis (spotty red rash around your mouth)
- itching around your back passage or private parts
- viral infections such as cold sores, herpes or chickenpox
- fungal infections, such as ringworm infection, athlete’s foot or thrush
- skin blisters or sores that are caused by an infection
- varicose ulcers caused by swollen veins
- stasis ulcers caused by reduced blood or body fluid flow
Before applying OVIX CREAM, inform your doctor if you:
- have cystic fibrosis (genetic disorder that damages lungs, digestive tract and other organs)
- have psoriasis (itchy skin)
- have abdominal pain
- have chills and fever
- nausea
- suffer from Parkinson’s disease (a brain disorder that affects movement)
- smoke
Use in Pediatrics:
OVIX CREAM is not recommended for use in children (below 1 year). It should be used with caution in children and adolescents (aged 2 to 18 years) after consulting the doctor.
Use in Geriatrics:
OVIX CREAM should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years or above). Consult your doctor before applying OVIX CREAM.
Interactions
A. Drug-Drug Interactions:
Before applying OVIX CREAM, inform your doctor, if you are applying any of the following medicine:
- anticoagulants (medicines to thin blood) such as warfarin
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally apply too much OVIX CREAM, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
