Introduction About OVIDINE 5% OINTMENT
Ovidine Ointment is a microbicidal ointment used for skin infections, minor cuts, abrasion, wound and small areas of burn. It contains povidone iodine as an active ingredient to decrease the risk of infection by killing the micro-organisms at the site of application.
Povidone-iodine inhibits the synthesis of various cellular mechanisms of pathogenic organisms (such as bacteria, virus, fungi, yeast and protozoa) that lead to their death. Also, it exhibits anti-inflammatory reactions that counteracts inflammation associated with pathogens and host response.
Always use Ovidine Ointment as advised by your doctor. It is for external use only. Clean the affected area and apply a small amount of ointment to the affected area. The area may be left uncovered or you may cover with a sterile bandage.
