Introduction About OVARES CAPSULE
OVARES CAPSULE is a combination of Dehydroepiandrosterone and Folic Acid which belong to the group of medicines called Steroid Hormone and Vitamin respectively. It is used to improve the symptoms in women in the menopause stage by improving their memory function and bone health by managing Osteoporosis.
OVARES CAPSULE is also used to improve the heart's health and minimise the formation of plaque in the arteries. Additionally, it is used to enhance lean body mass, the body’s ability to fight various infections, male sexual function, and improve various conditions associated with the stoppage of monthly periods in women, such as osteoporosis.
Also, it enhances physical and psychological wellbeing. In addition, folic acid present in OVARES CAPSULE provides essential nutrients to the body and manages anaemia from occurring due to various causes. Additionally, increased levels of folic acid help provide relief from the hot flushes experienced during menopause.
OVARES CAPSULE is not recommended for people who have cancers of the breast, prostate gland, or uterus, or who have Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), a condition in which the prostate gland grows in size.
OVARES CAPSULE is not advised for children under the age of 18, patients with high blood pressure (hypertension), pregnant or planning to become pregnant women, or nursing mothers. Always consult your doctor before using it. Consult your doctor if any of your side effects get worse.

How OVARES CAPSULE Works
OVARES CAPSULE contains two drugs called Dehydroepiandrosterone and Folic Acid, which belong to the classes Steroid Hormone and Vitamin, respectively. Dehydroepiandrosterone, commonly called DHEA, is a precursor of naturally occurring male sex hormones (testosterone) and naturally occurring female sex hormones (progesterone).
Being a precursor, it results in replenishing the levels of the above-mentioned hormones, which lead to mitigating sex hormone-related problems in males such as sexual dysfunction and in females like infertility and weakened bones (osteoporosis) associated with the stoppage of monthly periods (menopause). Also, folic acid, being a vitamin, provides required nutrients to the body and helps in the management of anemia, which is associated with pregnancy and/or excessive alcohol intake.
How to use OVARES CAPSULE
Take OVARES CAPSULE as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. It is recommended to take medicine thirty to sixty minutes before or after taking food. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Side Effects Of OVARES CAPSULE
Rare
- redness of skin (erythema)
- development of rash on skin
- increased itch (pruritis)
- tiredness (malaise)
- difficulty in breathing due to constricted muscles of nasal passages called bronchi (bronchospasm)
- loss of appetite
- feeling sick (nausea)
- vomiting
- upset stomach
- development of swelling on face, tongue, lips and throats along with characteristic sound production while breathing called wheezing (anaphylactic shock)
Stop taking OVARES CAPSULE and consult your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following:
- increased and rapid heartbeat
- dizziness
- blurred vision
- allergic reaction comprising of redness and itch
How To Manage Side Effects
Nausea And Vomiting
Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating heavily rich or spicy food. Stay hydrated. Consult your doctor if it persists for long or worsens with time.
Stomach Pain
Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating heavily rich or spicy food. Drink Oral Rehydration Solution to compensate for the loss of water and minerals. Stay hydrated. Consult your doctor if it persists for long or worsens with time.
Tiredness
Drink plenty of fluids and electrolytes and eat balanced diet with increased frequency of meals. Try to do regular minimal exercise and follow proper sleep schedule. If the symptom does not improve consult your doctor for the same.

Pregnancy
ContraindicatedOVARES CAPSULE is not recommended for use in pregnant women or who are planning pregnancy. Consult your doctor before taking OVARES CAPSULE.
Breastfeeding
ContraindicatedOVARES CAPSULE is not recommended for use in nursing women. Consult your doctor before taking OVARES CAPSULE.
Alcohol
ContraindicatedOVARES CAPSULE is not recommended to be taken along with alcohol since it is reported to cause increase in heartbeat, nausea thirst, decreased blood pressure and chest pain.
Allergy
ContraindicatedOVARES CAPSULE is not recommended if you are allergic to dehydroepiandrosterone and/or folic acid and/or another constituent of OVARES CAPSULE. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Heart Disease
ContraindicatedOVARES CAPSULE is not recommended in patients having increased blood pressure (Hypertension) and/or any heart disease. Consult your doctor before taking OVARES CAPSULE.
Use In Pediatrics
ContraindicatedOVARES CAPSULE is not recommended for children under the age of 18. Consult your doctor before taking OVARES CAPSULE.
Others
OVARES CAPSULE is not recommended for use if you:
- are diagnosed with cancers of breast, prostate gland and uterus
- are diagnosed with endometriosis wherein the lining of uterus get thickened
- are diagnosed with benign prostatic hyperplasia (bph) where the prostate gland gets increased in size
- want to increase the athletic ability
- have healthy level of dhea
- are intolerant to folic acid
- develop allergic reactions like itch and redness
Before taking OVARES CAPSULE, inform your doctor if you:
- have or had cancer of breast and prostate gland
- have or had enlargement of prostate gland
- have or had heart disease
- low levels of ‘good’ cholesterol (hdl)
- have or had disorder of thyroid gland
- use thyroid hormone
- are diagnosed with anemia
- have hemodialysis

A. Drug-Drug Interactions:
Before taking OVARES CAPSULE, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:
- medicines to manage high blood pressure (ex. verapamil (calcium channel blockers))
- medicines to manage fits and convulsions (ex. phenytoin, phenobarbital, primidone)
- medicines to manage parasitic infections (ex. pyrimethamine)
- medicines for oral contraception (ex. estrogen)
- medicines to reduce inflammation like steroids (ex. methylprednisolone sodium succinate)
- medicines to manage infections (ex. chloramphenicol, trimethoprim)
- medicines to manage gastric disorders (ex. famotidine, ranitidine)
- medicines to reduce pain (ex. aspirin, ibuprofen)
- medicines to manage malaria (ex. sulphadoxine, pyrimethamine)
- medicines to manage ulcerative colitis and/or crohn’s disease (ex. sulfasalazine)
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally took more of OVARES CAPSULE, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. The symptoms of overdosage are manifestation of neurological symptoms such as loss of memory (dementia), disturbances in vision and loss of physical coordination (ataxia).
