Introduction About ORMEFEN TABLET
ORMEFEN TABLET contains Ormeloxifene which belongs to the group of medicines called Selective estragon receptor modulators. ORMEFEN TABLET is used in women of reproductive age groups to manage dysfunctional uterine bleeding which is a condition that occurs when normal cycle of menstruation gets disrupted.
ORMEFEN TABLET is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Ormeloxifene. It is also not recommended for use in patients suffering from tuberculosis and/or chronic cervicitis/hyperplasia (inflammation of cervix).
Before taking ORMEFEN TABLET, inform your doctor if you have liver problems (such as jaundice, severe hepatic dysfunction) and/or kidney problems.
ORMEFEN TABLET is generally not recommended for use during pregnancy since the medicine has contraceptive effects. If pregnancy occurs while in management with ORMEFEN TABLET, then it should be discontinued. The medicine is advised to be used with caution in breastfeeding women as it may pass through breast milk.
ORMEFEN TABLET is generally not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged 16 years and below). Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.
The most common side effects of taking ORMEFEN TABLET are acne (pimples), water retention and/or breast tenderness. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsen.

How ORMEFEN TABLET Works
ORMEFEN TABLET works by causing asynchrony in the menstrual cycle between ovulation and development of uterine lining which cause uterine lining to shed more slowly resulting in reduced of loss of bleeding thus managing dysfunctional uterine bleeding in affected individuals.
How to use ORMEFEN TABLET
Take ORMEFEN TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of the medicine for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

Warning & Precautions
Pregnancy
ORMEFEN TABLET is not recommended for use during pregnancy since the medicine has contraceptive effects. Women of childbearing potential should adhere to contraceptive schedules if contraception is planned. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.
Breastfeeding
ORMEFEN TABLET should be used with caution in breastfeeding women since the medicine may pass through the breast milk. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Kidney
ORMEFEN TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with kidney problems. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.
Liver
ORMEFEN TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with liver problems such as jaundice, severe hepatic dysfunction. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.
Allergy
Do not take ORMEFEN TABLET if you are allergic to Ormeloxifene and/or any other ingredients of this medicine.
Lungs
ORMEFEN TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with lung problems such as tuberculosis. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.
Others
ORMEFEN TABLET is not recommended for use if you:
- suffer from chronic cervicitis/hyperplasia (inflammation of cervix)
Use in Paediatrics:
ORMEFEN TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged below 16 years). Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.
Interactions
A. Drug – Drug Interactions:
Before taking ORMEFEN TABLET, inform your doctor, if you are taking any of the following medicine:
- ciprofloxacin, cefixime, metronidazole. tetracycline (used to manage bacterial infections)
- amlodipine, atenolol (used to manage blood pressure)
- theophylline (used to manage asthma)
- metformin, pioglitazone and glibenclamide (used to manage diabetes)
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally take too much of ORMEFEN TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital to manage overdose symptoms.
