Introduction About ONRID MD TABLET

ONRID MD TABLET is used to provide relief from sensation of nausea and vomiting. It contains a medicine called Ondansetron which is an anti-emetic medicine. It reduces the nausea and vomiting sensation by blocking the vomiting centres of the brain.

Before taking ONRID MD TABLET, inform your doctor if you have severe constipation, heart or liver problems, imbalance with the levels of salts in the blood, such as potassium, sodium and magnesium or if you have been scheduled for any surgery.

Consult your doctor before taking ONRID MD TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

The dose of ONRID MD TABLET will depends on the age, body weight and disease condition of your child. Dosage adjustment is not required in elderly patients, hence consult your doctor before taking ONRID MD TABLET.

The most common side effects of taking ONRID MD TABLET includes headache, flushing and constipation. Consult your doctor if any of these above symptoms gets worse.

How ONRID MD TABLET Works

ONRID MD TABLET is anti-emetic medicine which works by blocking the action of serotonin, a natural substance in the body that can trigger nausea and vomiting. Specifically, it targets the 5-HT3 receptors in the brain and the gastrointestinal tract. By inhibiting these receptors, ondansetron effectively reduces the signals that lead to nausea and vomiting, providing relief to patients undergoing treatments that can induce these symptoms.

How to use ONRID MD TABLET

Take ONRID MD TABLET as advised by your physician. It can be taken with or without food.

For Tablet, Capsule: Swallow ONRID MD TABLET with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.

For Dispersible Tablet: Disperse the medicine in the specified quantity of water as mentioned in the label. Consume the medicine immediately after reconstitution.

For Oral Disintegrating strips: Place the medicine directly on your tongue and allow it to dissolve. For fast-dissolving strips, place the strip on your tongue or the inside of your cheek.

Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and severity of the infection.

Interactions

A. Drug-Drug Interactions:

Before taking ONRID MD TABLET, inform your doctor, if you are taking any of the following medicine:

• apomorphine (used to manage Parkinson’s disease)
• Antiepileptics (Ex. phenytoin, carbamazepine)
• Anti-TB agent (Ex. rifampicin)
• Pain killers (such as tramadol, methadone)
• Antipsychotic agents (Ex. haloperidol)
• Cardiac agents (Ex. amiodarone) and/or high blood pressure (Ex. atenolol, timolol)
• cancer medicines (Ex. doxorubicin, daunorubicin, monoclonal, trastuzumab) 
• Antibiotics (such as erythromycin, ketoconazole)
• Antidepressants, Sedatives, Anxiolytics (ex. fluoxetine, paroxetine, sertraline, fluvoxamine, citalopram, venlafaxine, duloxetine escitalopram)

Overdosage:

If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of ONRID MD TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
