    Introduction About ONDAROX TABLET

    ONDAROX TABLET is used to provide relief from sensation of nausea and vomiting. It contains a medicine called Ondansetron which is an anti-emetic medicine. It reduces the nausea and vomiting sensation by blocking the vomiting centres of the brain.

    Before taking ONDAROX TABLET, inform your doctor if you have severe constipation, heart or liver problems, imbalance with the levels of salts in the blood, such as potassium, sodium and magnesium or if you have been scheduled for any surgery.

    Consult your doctor before taking ONDAROX TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

    The dose of ONDAROX TABLET will depends on the age, body weight and disease condition of your child. Dosage adjustment is not required in elderly patients, hence consult your doctor before taking ONDAROX TABLET.

    The most common side effects of taking ONDAROX TABLET includes headache, flushing and constipation. Consult your doctor if any of these above symptoms gets worse.

    How ONDAROX TABLET Works

    ONDAROX TABLET is anti-emetic medicine which works by blocking the action of serotonin, a natural substance in the body that can trigger nausea and vomiting. Specifically, it targets the 5-HT3 receptors in the brain and the gastrointestinal tract. By inhibiting these receptors, ondansetron effectively reduces the signals that lead to nausea and vomiting, providing relief to patients undergoing treatments that can induce these symptoms.

    How to use ONDAROX TABLET

    Take ONDAROX TABLET as advised by your physician. It can be taken with or without food.

    For Tablet, Capsule: Swallow ONDAROX TABLET with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.

    For Dispersible Tablet: Disperse the medicine in the specified quantity of water as mentioned in the label. Consume the medicine immediately after reconstitution.

    For Oral Disintegrating strips: Place the medicine directly on your tongue and allow it to dissolve. For fast-dissolving strips, place the strip on your tongue or the inside of your cheek.

    Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and severity of the infection.

    Allergy

    Contraindicated

    Do not take ONDAROX TABLET if you are allergic to ondansetron, granisetron or palonosetron or to any other ingredients of this medicine.

    Heart Disease

    Use with Caution

    ONDAROX TABLET should be used with caution in patients with heart diseases such as uneven heartbeats (arrhythmias) or congestive heart failure.

    Use In Pediatrics

    ONDAROX TABLET can be used in children if prescribed by the physician.

    Use In Geriatrics

    Monitoring required

    ONDAROX TABLET can be used in elderly patients if prescribed by the physician.

    Others

    Before taking ONDAROX TABLET, inform your doctor if you:

    • have a blockage in your gut
    • have problems with the levels of salts in the blood (such as potassium, sodium and magnesium)
    • are intolerant to some sugars (Ex. lactose intolerance)

    A. Drug-Drug Interactions:

    Before taking ONDAROX TABLET, inform your doctor, if you are taking any of the following medicine:

    • apomorphine (used to manage Parkinson’s disease)
    • Antiepileptics (Ex. phenytoin, carbamazepine)
    • Anti-TB agent (Ex. rifampicin)
    • Pain killers (such as tramadol, methadone)
    • Antipsychotic agents (Ex. haloperidol)
    • Cardiac agents (Ex. amiodarone) and/or high blood pressure (Ex. atenolol, timolol)
    • cancer medicines (Ex. doxorubicin, daunorubicin, monoclonal, trastuzumab) 
    • Antibiotics (such as erythromycin, ketoconazole)
    • Antidepressants, Sedatives, Anxiolytics (ex. fluoxetine, paroxetine, sertraline, fluvoxamine, citalopram, venlafaxine, duloxetine escitalopram)

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of ONDAROX TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
