Introduction About OMEZ INSTA MG POWDER

OMEZ INSTA MG POWDER contains Omeprazole which belongs to the group of medicines called Proton pump inhibitors. It is used in the management of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (acid contents in the stomach flow back into the tube connecting your mouth and stomach causing heartburn, nausea, vomiting, bitter taste, discomfort in upper abdomen) in children (above 1 month of age) and adults.

It is used in adults to manage gastric (stomach) and duodenal ulcers (upper part of the intestine), ulcers infected with Helicobacter pylori bacteria in addition with antibiotics (including children over 4 years of age) and ulcers due to the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

Before taking OMEZ INSTA MG POWDER, tell your doctor if you have any severe liver problems, weight loss for no reason, stomach pain or indigestion, severe or persistent diarrhoea, osteoporosis (a condition in which bones become weak and brittle) and schedule for a specific blood test (chromogranin A).

OMEZ INSTA MG POWDER can be used in pregnant or breastfeeding women only if advised by the doctor. It is not recommended for use in children under 1 month of age.

OMEZ INSTA MG POWDER should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged above 65 years) due to the increased risk of fractures, especially if used in higher doses and over long durations (>1 year).

The most common side effects of taking OMEZ INSTA MG POWDER are headache, diarrhoea, stomach pain, constipation and flatulence. Consult your doctor if any of the side effects worsen or bother you.
