OBELIT 60MG CAPSULE contains Orlistat, which belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-obesity agents. It is used for weight reduction in adults (18 years and above) who are overweight and have a body mass index (BMI) of 28 or more. Obesity is defined as abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that presents a risk to health. A body mass index (BMI) over 25 is considered overweight, and over 30 is obese.
Before taking OBELIT 60MG CAPSULE, inform your doctor if you have cholestasis, malnutrition syndrome, diabetes, or kidney disease. OBELIT 60MG CAPSULE is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women. OBELIT 60MG CAPSULE is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (below 18 years of age), therefore consult your doctor before taking the medicine.
The most common side effects of taking OBELIT 60MG CAPSULE are flatulence, with or without oily spotting, sudden bowel motions, fatty, oily, or soft stools, and stomach pain. Contact your doctor if any of the above side effects worsen or persists for a long duration.

How OBELIT 60MG CAPSULE Works
OBELIT 60MG CAPSULE works by attaching to the enzymes in the digestive system (lipases) and managing them from breaking down some of the fat that have consumed during the meal. The fat that is not digested cannot be absorbed and it is removed by the body.
How to use OBELIT 60MG CAPSULE
Take OBELIT 60MG CAPSULE as advised by the physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending on the age, body weight and disease condition. Do not stop taking OBELIT 60MG CAPSULE unless your doctor advises you to stop.

How To Manage Side Effects

Bloating
Eat smaller meals more frequently. Eat and drink slowly, and exercise regularly. If the symptom does not improve, contact your doctor.

Diarrhea
Drink lots of fluids, such as water or fruit juice to keep yourself hydrated. Do not consume any medicine on your own without consulting your doctor.

Headache
Drink an ample amount of water. Get adequate rest. Try to be relaxed and stress-free. Ask your doctor before taking any medicine other than OBELIT 60MG CAPSULE.

Stomach Pain
Try to rest and relax. Eat and drink slowly or try to have smaller meals more frequently. Keep a heating pad on your stomach. If the symptom does not improve, contact your doctor.

- ciclosporin (used after organ transplant)
- medicines used to thin the blood (Ex. warfarin, clopidogrel)
- oral contraceptives (Ex. ethinyl estradiol, progestin)
- acarbose (used to manage diabetes)
- levothyroxine (used to manage hypothyroidism)
- medicines used to manage epilepsy (Ex. carbamazepine, phenytoin)
- medicines used to manage viral infection (Ex. abacavir, lamivudine)
- medicines used for depression, psychiatric disorders, or anxiousness (Ex. amitriptyline, phenobarbital, fluoxetine)
- medicines used to manage blood pressure (Ex. enalapril, atenolol)
- medicines used to lower cholesterol levels in the blood (Ex. atorvastatin, simvastatin)
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of OBELIT 60MG CAPSULE, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
