    Key Composition

    NP COM TABLET is a combination of Nimesulide and Paracetamol, which belongs to the group of medicines called Non-steroidal Anti-inflammatory drugs. NP COM TABLET is used to provide relief from inflammation and pain in conditions such as headache, mild migraine, muscle pain, dental pain, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis, and/or painful menses in affected individuals.

    NP COM TABLET is not recommended for use in patients allergic to nimesulide, paracetamol, and/or other NSAIDS. It is also not recommended for use in patients with peptic ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, severe liver disease, and/or severe kidney disease.

    Before taking NP COM TABLET, inform your doctor if you are alcohol dependent and/or have other kidney problems and/or heart problems such as heart failure.

    NP COM TABLET is not recommended for use during pregnancy and in breastfeeding women. It is also not recommended for use in children (aged below 12 years). NP COM TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged above 65 years) after consulting the doctor.

    The most common side effects of NP COM TABLET are dizziness, excess sleepiness, stomach upset, nausea, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, and/or peripheral oedema (swelling in legs or arms). Consult your doctor if any of the symptoms worsen.

    Uses Of NP COM TABLET

    • Provides relief from inflammation and pain in conditions (such as headache, mild migraine, muscle pain, dental pain, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis, and/or painful menses) in affected individuals.

    How NP COM TABLET Works

    NP COM TABLET provides relief from pain and inflammation, where nimesulide and paracetamol act by blocking the action of prostaglandin (chemical messengers responsible for pain and inflammation), resulting in reduced inflammation and providing relief from pain in affected individuals.

    How to use NP COM TABLET

    Take NP COM TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight, and disease condition.

    Side Effects Of NP COM TABLET

    Common

    • Dizziness, excess sleepiness
    • Stomach upset, nausea, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea
    • Peripheral oedema (swelling in legs/arms)
    • Signs of hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rash, red itchy welts, itching, and shortness of breath

    Rare

    Stop taking NP COM TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

    • Signs of severe allergic reactions such as skin rash, itching, swelling of the mouth/face, and/or shortness of breath
    • Skin rash/peeling, mouth ulcers
    • Breathing problems, unexplained bruising/bleeding
    • Signs of impaired liver function such as nausea, sudden weight loss, loss of appetite, and yellowing of the eyes and skin

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Diarrhea

    Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated. Try to avoid taking any medicine on your own to manage diarrhea. Consult your doctor if the diarrhea does not improve.

    Dizziness Or Drowsiness

    Try to rest and get enough sleep. Try to avoid driving or operating any tools or machines while you feel dizzy. Limit consumption of alcohol, as it can aggravate dizziness. Consult your doctor if the dizziness worsens.

    Nausea And Vomiting

    Try to take NP COM TABLET with or just after a meal or a snack. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating rich or spicy food. Consult your doctor if the nausea and vomiting get worse.

    Breastfeeding

    Driving and Using Machines

    Use with Caution

    Do not drive or operate any machines if you feel dizzy, drowsy, and/or sleepy after taking NP COM TABLET.

    Alcohol

    Contraindicated

    Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking NP COM TABLET because it might cause liver damage.

    Kidney

    Consult your doctor

    NP COM TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe kidney disease and/or analgesic nephropathy. It should be used with caution in patients with other kidney problems. Consult your doctor before taking NP COM TABLET.

    Liver

    Contraindicated

    NP COM TABLET is not recommended in patients with liver disease. Consult your doctor before taking NP COM TABLET.

    Allergy

    Contraindicated

    Do not take NP COM TABLET if you are allergic to nimesulide, paracetamol, other NSAIDS, and/or other ingredients of this medicine.

    Heart Disease

    Use with Caution

    NP COM TABLET should be used with caution in patients with heart failure. Consult your doctor before taking NP COM TABLET.

    Use In Pediatrics

    Contraindicated

    NP COM TABLET is not recommended for use in children (aged below 12 years). Consult your doctor before administering the medicine to the child.

    Use In Geriatrics

    Use with Caution

    NP COM TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged above 65 years). Consult your doctor before taking NP COM TABLET.

    Others

    NP COM TABLET is not recommended for use if you:

    • Have peptic ulcers and/or gastrointestinal bleeding

    A. Drug-drug interactions:

    Before taking NP COM TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:

    • Anticoagulants (medicines used to manage blood clotting) Ex. warfarin
    • Cholestyramine (medicine used to lower high cholesterol levels)
    • Metoclopramide, domperidone (medicines used to manage nausea and vomiting)

    B. Drug-food interaction:

    Avoid consumption of foods containing caffeine and/or drinks such as tea, chocolate, and coffee since it leads to excessive dizziness and sleepiness.

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally took more of NP COM TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
