    Introduction About NORPER SYRUP

NORPER SYRUP contains Domperidone, Magaldrate, Simethicone and Sorbitol which belong to the group of medicines called antiemetics, antacids, gastrointestinal agents and sugar alcohols, respectively. It is used in adults and children above the age of 12 (who weigh 35 kg or more) for the management of gastric problems such as nausea, vomiting, burping, stomach pain, acidity and excess gas. NORPER SYRUP is also used in the management of peptic ulcers.

A peptic ulcer (stomach ulcer) develops on the lining of the oesophagus, stomach and small intestine and may occur due to excess intake of spicy foods, alcohol, acidic foods, increased caffeine intake, pain-relieving medicines, etc. Symptoms of this disease include stomach pain and discomfort, indigestion, heartburn, nausea, vomiting, excess gas, loss of appetite, etc.

Avoid consuming alcohol, carbonated drinks, citrus fruit juices and caffeine to reduce acidity and gas problems. Maintaining a healthy diet plan with adequate sleep is recommended to get effective results.

NORPER SYRUP is not recommended for use in patients suffering from stomach or intestinal bleeding, stomach pain with black stools, gut problems, pituitary gland tumours, moderate to severe liver disease, heart diseases like prolonged QT interval, heart failure or altered potassium and magnesium levels in the blood.

Before taking NORPER SYRUP, inform your doctor if you have or have had liver diseases, kidney problems, heart problems, appendicitis, stomach pain, bowel blockage, rectal bleeding, nausea, diarrhoea and vomiting, are following a low magnesium diet or have had bowel surgery in the past.

Inform your doctor about your pregnancy status before taking this medicine. Breastfeeding women and children below the age of 12 (who weigh less than 35 kg) are not recommended to take NORPER SYRUP. Dry mouth, headache, diarrhoea, bone pain, muscle weakness, hyperacidity, constipation, intestinal problems and other common side effects of NORPER SYRUP include: Consult your doctor if any of the symptoms are worsening.

    Uses Of NORPER SYRUP

    • Manage nausea, vomiting, burping, excess gas, stomach pain
    • Manage peptic ulcer (stomach ulcer), stomach acidity

    How NORPER SYRUP Works

NORPER SYRUP contains domperidone, magaldrate, simethicone and sorbitol. Domperidone is an antiemetic that manages nausea and vomiting by blocking the messages between the brain (vomiting centre and chemoreceptor trigger zone) and the digestive system. It also causes tightening at the entrance of the stomach muscles and loosens the muscles at the stomach exit, which also helps reduce the chance to vomit.

Magaldrate is an antacid that works by neutralising stomach acid and increasing the pH of the stomach. It protects gastric mucosa and reduces stomach ulcers. It dissolves in the stomach acid and envelopes the ulcer area, leading to the process of stomach repair.

Simethicone is an anti-flatulent that manages excess gas production by breaking up the gas bubbles in the stomach. Sorbitol is an artificial sweetener added to the combination for better flavour and texture.
