    Introduction About NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET

    NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET is a combination of Drotaverine and Nimesulide which belongs to the group of medicines called Antispasmodics and Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) respectively. NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET is used to manage abdominal pain which refers to the discomfort in the space between the chest and pelvis that occurs due to indigestion or muscle strain.

    There are four types of abdominal pain which are categorized as upper, lower, right-sided and left-sided abdominal pain which are generally characterized by symptoms such as bloating, flatulence, indigestion, constipation, diarrhea, heartburn and chest discomfort.

    Avoid taking NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET, if you have drug addiction, history of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation, recurrent active bleeding or stomach ulcer, bleeding or severe coagulation disorders such as hemophilia and von willebrand disease, severe heart, liver or kidney failure.

    Before taking NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have low blood pressure. NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET is generally not recommended for use during the third trimester of pregnancy and in women attempting to conceive. It is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women.

    NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET is also not recommended for use in children and adolescents (below 12 years). Consult your doctor before taking it.

    The most common side effects of taking NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET are diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. Consult your doctor if any of the side effects worsen.

    How NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET Works

    NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET relieves abdominal pain, where Drotaverine provides relief from muscle spasms by inhibiting multisynaptic reflex on the brain and spinal cord centers and Nimesulide provides relief from abdominal pain by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that are responsible to cause pain and inflammation in the affected areas.

    How to use NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET

    Take NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

    Side Effects Of NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET

    Common

    • diarrhea
    • nausea
    • vomiting

    Uncommon

    • dizziness
    • high blood pressure
    • shortness of breath
    • constipation
    • flatulence
    • signs of gastrointestinal bleeding such as black or tarry stool, bright red blood in vomit, cramps in the abdomen.
    • intestinal and stomach ulcer and perforation
    • itching
    • rash
    • excessive sweating
    • swelling in legs or arms

    Rare

    • headache
    • lack of sleep
    • throbbing heartbeat
    • low blood pressure
    • signs of allergic reaction such as local swelling of the skin, red, itchy skin rash
    • anemia (low red blood cell count)
    • signs of high eosinophil count (rash, itching, runny nose)
    • signs of high blood potassium levels such as muscle twitching, nausea, vomiting
    • anxiety, nervousness, nightmare
    • blurred vision
    • fast heartbeat
    • bleeding, fluctuating blood pressure, hot flashes
    • skin redness and inflammation
    • painful or difficult urination, sometimes with blood
    • feeling generally unwell, weakness

    Stop taking NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET and consult your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

    • signs of hepatic injury such as anorexia (eating disorder), nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, fatigue, dark urine
    • fever or flu-like symptoms such as fever, chills, muscle aches, cough
    • signs of gastrointestinal bleeding such as black or tarry stool, bright red blood in vomit, cramps in the abdomen
    • signs of severe kidney dysfunction such as nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, weakness
    • signs of serious skin reactions such as skin rash, mucosal lesions, facial swelling, dry mouth

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Nausea or Vomiting:

    Take NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET with or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy foods. Get adequate rest. Drink sufficient amount of fluids, especially water. Have small sips if you feel sick. Eat when you feel hungry or like to eat. Do not take any medicine for vomiting without asking your doctor.

    Headache:

    Drink ample amount of water. Get adequate rest. Try to be relaxed and stress free. Ask your doctor before taking any medicine for headache.

    Dizziness:

    Lie down until dizziness is gone, then get up slowly. Move slowly and carefully, do not hurry. Get adequate rest. Drink plenty of water and other fluids. Avoid cigarettes, alcohol and drugs. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.

    Constipation:

    Eat plenty of fiber rich foods such as fresh fruits, vegetables, cereals and drink plenty of water. Exercise more regularly. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.

    Diarrhea:

    Drink lots of fluids, such as water or fruit juice to keep yourself hydrated. Do not take any medicine on your own for managing diarrhea without consulting your doctor.

    Flatulence:

    Eat smaller and frequent meals. Eat and drink slowly and exercise regularly. If the symptom does not improve, contact your doctor.

    Pregnancy

    NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET is generally not recommended for use during the third trimester of pregnancy and in women attempting to conceive. It is used with caution during the first two trimesters of pregnancy only if it is clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before taking NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET.

    Breastfeeding

    NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET.

    Driving and Using Machines

    Do not drive or use any machines if you experience dizziness, drowsiness or spinning sensation after taking NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET.

    Alcohol

    Do not consume alcohol while taking NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET. Consult your doctor before taking NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET.

    Kidney

    NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe kidney failure. It should be used with caution in patients with mild to moderate impaired renal function. Consult your doctor before taking NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET.

    Liver

    NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver failure. Consult your doctor before taking NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET.

    Allergy

    Do not take NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET if you are allergic to Drotaverine, Nimesulide or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

    Heart Disease

    NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe heart failure. It should be used with caution in patients with low blood pressure, uncontrolled high blood pressure, ischemic heart disease, peripheral arterial disease or cerebrovascular disease, congestive heart failure. Consult your doctor before taking NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET.

    Others

    NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET is not recommended for use if you:

    • have a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation
    • have recurrent active bleeding or stomach ulcer
    • have signs of cerebrovascular bleeding such as sudden severe headache, seizures with no previous history of seizures, weakness in an arm or leg
    • have current bleeding or severe coagulation disorders such as hemophilia and von willebrand disease
    • have fever or flu symptoms such as such as fever, chills, muscle aches, cough
    • have rare hereditary galactose intolerance
    • have signs of LAPP lactase deficiency (rare hereditary condition of lactose sugar deficiency)
    • have signs of glucose-galactose malabsorption such as unpredictable bowel movements, variation in stool consistency, bloating, flatulence

    Use in Pediatrics:

    NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (below 12 years). Consult your doctor before taking it.

    Use in Geriatrics:

    NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients. Consult your doctor before taking it.

    Interactions

    A. Drug - Drug interactions:

    Before taking NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines:

    • levodopa (used to manage parkinson’s disease)
    • other medicines used to relieve pain and inflammation (Ex. aspirin, celecoxib)
    • medicines used to manage inflammatory conditions (Ex. hydrocortisone, prednisolone)
    • medicines used for blood thinning (warfarin, dabigatran)
    • medicines used to manage depression (Ex. venlafaxine, duloxetine)
    • medicines used to manage heart conditions like high blood pressure or heart insufficiency (Ex. furosemide, lisinopril, valsartan, digoxin)
    • lithium (used to manage mood disorders)
    • glibenclamide (used to manage diabetes)
    • theophylline (used to manage COPD)
    • cimetidine (used to manage hyperacidity)
    • methotrexate (used in certain type of cancers)
    • cyclosporin (used after organ transplantation)

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally take too much of NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdose include weakness, feeling generally unwell, dizziness, vomiting, headache, fall in blood pressure, sleepiness, heart rhythm and conduction disorders like potentially fatal complete bundle block, drowsiness, sluggishness, nausea and epigastric pain.

In such case, contact your doctor right away.

    What precautions do I need to follow while taking NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET?

    Patients taking NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET must inform their doctor about their pre-existing disease conditions like kidney, liver or heart problems. Patients should also inform if they are pregnant or breast-feeding, having any allergies, stomach ulcers or bleeding problems. You should avoid drinking alcohol while taking NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET. Contact your doctor immediately if you have any abnormal symptoms.

    What if I forget to take a dose of NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET?

    If you forget to take a dose of NOBEL SPAS 40/100MG TABLET, take it as soon as you remember and then continue your management as usual. Do not take the medicine twice to make up for the forgotten dose. If you have any further doubts, contact your doctor.
